We play notes off key, we tune or detune the pads and sometimes the drums to manipulate sound as much as possible. Most of our beats are not complex or full of chord changes because we believe less is more and sparse is where it's at for us (the average listener doesn't notice those little nuances anyway). Our beats are not slick and polished, we tend to like dark, grimy and dirty that's where the funk is. Our music at times tends to be unfocused cause we've been inspired by soooo many different genres and time periods. By the way these are not the rules for every beat we make... Hey we are all about putting fun in our creative expression like they did back in the 80's. We just create music from the heart and whatever comes through is what we bring to da masses.
