Title: Light in the Tunnel
Hello,
I'm married with two children (mine) and two more by marraige. With six grandchildren...I've literally played out in the public since about 1965 or there 'bouts and finally had enough of that in the 90's. I'm from a family of 9 kids and of course, the oldest.
My music has grown alot to include most any style of writing. You name it other than the new stuff, and I've done it. Alot of changes throughout the years is all I can say. However, my favorite was always folkish because the words always said something or told a story. The social comments are pretty neat to hear from people when tactfully done in a pleasing way to the ears. I play a number of instruments and enjoy doing so......Music is me! My father and mother sang quite well and us kids always enjoyed the times we spent together as a large family with little to no money. We never missed what we didn't have which is the truth. I'm totally amazed at what makes it on the charts , radio and other,,,and I don't have the time to work the system to get there anymore. So that's why this is fun and yet serious to me. If something comes,,,great! If not,,,it's been a nice ride.
It is Done,,: Today I finally signed papers to officially retire... Not an easy decision to make but it had to be done to free me up for whatever is next in my life. I was collecting unemployment with thousands of others my same age or close to it,, Wrong as it is in our country to use this downsizing as a tool for getting rid of those with age it is happening and we ALL know it. ANyways,,, Happy retirement BOB,, I know when I'm licked.
Wonderful: On Friday Oct 16 I was let go from the City of Anoka after 30 plus years of service. No severence, no anything,, it's all gone. They promised us oldsters a package we wouldn't refuse. Well, it's nothing. Other cities across the State did while this one is the most heartless and inhumane cities across the State. Bitterness is what I feel within me. Hence my posting of my song "Used to be Mine" on Saturday morning. Give a listen!
Here's to You Tom....: Tom transplanted himself and his wife in Florida for health reasons. We played in a band together since I was in tenth grade and had the best of times as best friends. The worst thing about age is that though our hearts are young,, our bodies are not,,, so all we have are the memories. It was great to see you in 2006 and yes my friend... You are missed up here in Minnesota. Good Luck down there in the warm land..BOB

Thanks for your message. I've been quite busy lately and haven't even had a chance to check in here... anyway, more songs may be coming soon. Currently building a house (almost done!) and just got finished 'building' a new DAW, so I've been sidelined for awhile. But I'll try to remember to let you know. I hope things are going well for you!

Hey Bob,

Thanks for the message. Sorry to hear about what you're going through. Just take it one day at a time my friend...I know it sounds cliched but what else can one do?

One more day until the Olympics start! Woohoo!!!
