and hearts were torn apart . We did not
know until the next day that you had
left this earthly plane of existance, but
the other kitties knew.

Sweetheart, it still hurts me to the core
that I was not with you when you left
us. I know that's unfair to myself, because
I could not have known. But it's just so
damned unfair that you died alone, when
Bogus did not. I would give my heart
to have been there with you in your
final moments. But I guess that's the
way it was supposed to be. Still it does
not seem right or fair to me.

It's Been Six Years: My Darling Bogus,

Today marks 6 years of your leaving
this world to go on to the Rainbow
Bridge. If it were 60 years it would
still hurt and I would still cry. I still
miss you that much. If I did not
believe with all my heart that the
Rainbow Bridge exists, if I had not
been given that special sign 1 month
after your passing, I honestly don't
think I could stand you being gone
even now. When you left, you took
half of my heart with you. Things
have never been the same or right
for me after you left. I really had no
idea how much you guarded me when
you were here, until after you were
gone.

As you know, I spent this Christmas Eve with my oldest son, as I read the Christmas at Rainbow Bridge aloud to him, starting it at 11:45 pm. We lit your white candle, fixed ourselves a cup of hot cocoa, and I read the
Christmas at Rainbow Bridge poem. We concluded the special time last night by taking the time to listen to your song, drinking our hot cocoa, and letting you and Bogus know how much we miss you.

Christmas at Rainbow Bridge:
As the midnight hour approaches on Christmas Eve, a tremendous celebration begins. If you listen closely you will hear the exuberant sound of Bridgekids preparing for the remarkable moment that comes but once a year. Puppys romp through the tall green grass, chasing butterflies and rolling over and over until fits of giggles bring them to a tumbling stop. The volume increases as kittens, cats, tigers and lions purr in pure delight while the wings of snow white doves gently caress the air. The babbling brook that runs beneath Rainbow Bridge overflows onto the edge of mossy banks and fins of treasured aquatic life quiver in anticipation of this most joyous event.

a special wave of joy and excitement flows

The Monday Candle Ceremony Prayer:
We Gather Together to Honor and Remember Our Precious Baby and those who have no one to pray for them.
Tonight, Monday, we join hands, hearts and souls across the land as one large extended family to pray for our sick and dying pets and to pay tribute to our furbabies who have gone ahead to Rainbow Bridge. Someday, we will meet them again, with hugs, tears and kisses, as we walk together, in eternity, to our new home.
Until that blessed day, we honor these precious souls and remember them with the warm glow of flickering candles, sending a message of love, light and healing, and the faith to believe in miracles.

Today is a sad day:
This morning, I received word in person from
my friend that our beloved Cloud Warrior
had crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge.
Cloud had gone missing for the last 3 days
and when I work up this morning, I just had
a bad feeling that would not go away and
that I could not shake. He had been hit by
a car not very far from my friend's house
but was so severely injured that he could
not make his way back home. We buried
him this morning, and we will take part in
the Candle Light Ceramony tonight.

Rainbow Bridge :
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
