Born in Manchester in 1943, I learnt to play piano in my early teens. I have gigged over the years with numerous bands, none very sucessful and about 15 years ago I developed a liking for Jazz. So much so that I took lessons and played a few jazz gigs.
About 10 years ago I started writing my own music. The genre of my songs very much depends on the inspiration I have. I like country, but have also written pop, dance, a christian rap, and an environmental song. I wrote the latter 10 years ago whilst on holiday in Italy, long before saving the earth became fashionable.

Keyboard Players Nightmare:
In 2006 I noticed my piano playing was deteriorating by 'missing' notes in the melody line. Further investigation revealed I was actually playing the notes but I was not hitting the key with sufficient force to make it sound.
At first my GP thought it was arthritis but it was later found to be the onset of Parkinson's Disease and it was not long before I was unable to use my right hand. Disaster! Especially as my songs were all developed by riffing over a series of chords and I would fall upon my ideas almost by accident. Worse still I could not even just sit and play.
I decided the way forward was to use backing tracks and play the melodies with my left hand. At first I used my i5M arra...
