LIST/SHOW YOUR FAVORITE CONCERT DVD's
I very much enjoy to watch a good concert DVD in sorround in our livingroom. There is a lot of good stuff in the stores, but there is also a LOT of CRAP ! So why not help each other by telling about our favorite concert DVD's here in this blog ?

So - don't wait - tell me what your favorite concert DVD's are and - if you have a link to youtube - add it too.

I hope you will help me extend my concert collection. In return of your favours I will make a detailed review on the DVD's I buy. First detailed review has been made. Check the words on Toto-Falling in Between.

***** REVIEW ON TOTO FALLING IN BETWEEN LIVE ***

This concert is very special as the crew are not the usual ones. David Paich is replaced with Greg Phillinganes, and Mike Pocaro is replaced by Leland Sklar who learned the set in 5 days. Both musicians qualify for the virtouoses hall of fame. Fantastic players. The rest of the crew is as always: Bobby Kimball, Steve Lukather, Simon Phillips and Tony Spinner as second guitarist.

The sound is REALLY top notch all the way through, the concert steams with energy and good spirit, and they are so tight grooving that you wouldn't believe it. Any music lover who likes to see good musicians should go and buy this. It is relatively cheap these days. I can buy it here for around 7 EUR and it is worth every penny.

I am especially VERY moved by their acoustic set and the jazz version of Roseanna - yes - you read right they did change Roseanna this time. The atmosphere is very cozy, smiling and VERY much alive. The performance are outstanding. Gregg's pianosolo made me want to go out in the garden and burry my keyboard, and Simon's drumsolo over the progressive 7/8 beat is totally crazy. This concert represents all genres. Their progressive tunes, funky tunes, pop/rock tunes - and this time they have taken their old hardrockers into the set too. Both Kingdom of desire, Gipsy Train and Taint your world are performed here. The first two mentioned hardrockers was written at the time when Steve Lukather went solo and collaborated with the brother Van Halen - and all three tracks sure sounds like Mr. Van Halen jumped on the stage.

Tracklist: Falling in between, King of the world, Panama, Bottom of your soul, Caught in the balance, Dont chain my heart, Hold the line, Stop loving you, Ill be over you, Cruel, Greg solo, Roseanna, Ill supply the love, Isolation, gift of faith, Kingdom of desire, Hydra, simons solo, Taint your world, Gypsy train, Africa, Drag him to the roof and a interview. Almost a tune from all their albums.

You may already have this, Lasse. But I really like "Concert for George" for the late Beatle with Eric Clapton, Tom Petty etc.

Another excellent and thrilling concert DVD is Roger Waters The Wall, live in Berlin from around 1990 or so. Two lead guitarists standing on two towers screeching over a huge crowd. What a sensation!
With a huge cast of musicians including Joni Mitchel, Cindy Lauper and Van Morrison.
