Why is it that when I'm "bummed out" (do people say that anymore?) I gravitate towards music, books, movies, etc. that are...well...sort of dark? You would think that I'd want to soak up pleasant vibes when I'm in that state of mind but I really can't stand to be around happy people when I'm down and out. I wrote the song "It Sometimes Rains" when I was in a similar situation years ago. Misery loves company as long as it's miserable too!

Anyway I've recently been re-reading a lot of Dostoevsky and listening to Cowboy Junkies...sometimes at the same time!

What a weirdo!
