I review all friend requests and don't just add people willy nilly.

As far as bands go, if I know you personally, or I've checked you out after receiving your friend's request and think you're music is cool...I'll approve it. However, if I don't add you please don't take offense. It is most likely that I don't particularly like your sort of music. At the end of the day I'm not out here whore every band that contacts me. I have a certain taste and I'll help promote those bands I feel fit my personal tastes.

Now for personal friend requests. If I know you personally, you'll be added straight away. However, if I don't know you I will check out your profile and see what it is you are after! If we have the same or similar interests then the likelihood is that I will add you. If in doubt, msg me and ask.

As far as staying in touch, I do that better with some people than others so if I don't contact you for a long time it doesn't mean I'm ignoring you or that you are any less important. I am very busy!
