Musician - performer and composer (ASCAP). I started piano when I was 8, clarinet when I was 12, and guitar and composing when I was 15 (in 1967 - a good year for music!). I am now the grand old age of 56, and am concentrating on Blues guitar. I was recently lead guitarist of a reformed 60's blues-rock band on Long Island.
I was a music major in college (Colby College in Waterville, Maine) and got my BA in music in 1974 concentrating in composition. I took independent study classical guitar in college from Elliot Fisk (a student of Andres Segovia), and I received honors in it. I taught classical and folk guitar at Colby in 1975 as an independent study course.
Played in several rock groups in High School and College (most unnotably "Frank and The Beans"). However, mostly I played folk music - inspired by Dylan, The Grateful Dead, Neil Young, Donovan, Melanie (who I grew up across the street from), as well as more pop oriented artists, especially the Beatles - most especially John Lennon, plus Cream (Eric Clapton is still someone I catch all the concerts of I can), The Stones, and the general music and culture of the mid-late 60's and early 70's. 1967 was the peak for me.
I was invited into a reformed 60's rock/blues group as Lead Guitarist and singer. I played with them for a year, but as they considered rehearsing to be an interference in their lives, and so, I am looking for new opportunities in my area - to record with or play live -- or both.

Hey,
I wanted to let you know that I just posted a new song that I think you will enjoy.
Not really very new though. It was written in 1847. LOL
It's an old Christmas standard.
O Holy Night (Cantique de Noel)

Or just click the pic.
I hope I did the song justice.
I'd appreciate it if you could give it a spin when you get a chance and let me know what you think.
Thanks for your support.

Happy Halloween!!!
Do you want to hear something really scary? Of course you do!
New song posted called "Swampman Coming".
Check it out when you get a chance but don't blame me for your nightmares!

Or just click my pic and visit my page to hear it.

P.S. I had to seriously rush the song to get it posted for Halloween so don't expect perfection. I'm sure I'll wind up going back and working on this one in the future.
Enjoy

Hey,
How's it going? I've been pretty busy myself.
I wanted to let you know that I uploaded a new song called:
"Without You (Ballad of Dona)"
It's actually a previously unpublished song written by my brother Paul back in the 80's. Don't let the title fool you. It's not your everyday ballad.
I'd appreciate it if you could take it for a spin when you get a chance and let me know what you think.

I also have given "Slay the Dragon" a complete re-mix. If you liked it before I think you'll really like it now. Turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. I'd appreciate any feedback you can offer.
All of my songs have been recently re-mastered for more dynamic range and a less fatiguing sound. Hopefully this will result in a more pleasant listening experience for all.
More songs coming soon!
Thank you for your support.
Gordy

Hey,
I just uploaded a brand new song called Saturday Night. This one is something a little different from me. No smoking guitar solo but plenty of other goodies. I think it turned out pretty good. I'd appreciate it if you would give it a spin when you get a chance and let me know what you think.

Hey,
I just uploaded a new and shiny Blues tune called "Seven Hundred Miles From Nowhere" featuring Jolee on the vocals. I think you're going to like it. Like I said, very new and shiny.
It is the result of several weeks of collaboration between Jolee and myself. It was her first slow blues song and my first collab so it was quite a challenge for both of us.
If you get a chance swing by, give it a spin and let me know what you think.

Hello my friends!
I want to send a Thank You to all my friends here on Soundclick.
My song “Five Elements” went to #1 on the Instrumental Rock charts! I’m humbled because there are so many better musicians than me here. I do appreciate the kind words and support.
Chart ratings were not my goal, (but it’s cool to see it up there),
I joined to share music and meet like minded musicians, friends and trade ideas.
Anyway, please drop by anytime to say hello and have a wonderful day!
Kev

Hey Jim, I just watched your "Tears In Heaven" video and it was terrific. Such a sad song from Eric about the passing of his son Conor. I can't imagine the pain he must have felt. Thanks for the music my friend, Jerry
