Jayleen has been called a female James Brown with a raspy blues quality to her voice very rarely found. The funk and jazz influences in her music meld a unique and intoxicating sound. Jayleen Stonehouse combines a spectacular blend of original and cover songs to entertain every taste. Born and raised in Edmonton, Jayleen picked up her first guitar at the age of 14. By 15 she had joined her first band honing her talent and by the age of 16 Jayleen was composing her own material. From that moment on, she never looked back. Since that time, Jayleen has played all over the world including Iceland & Greenland and down to the Islands of Vanuatu in the South Pacific. She has been blessed with the opportunity to play and record with some of Canada’s most renowned musicians in some of the most beautiful places in the world. Jayleen has opened up for the likes of The Commitments, Collin James, Barney Bentall, Doug & The Slugs and Long John Baldry. She was once told personally by Jimmy Page “that she would do and be everything she dreamed of because she is REAL”. Jayleen has an honesty and fortitude in her music that flows out through her live performance as well as her recordings. She is now joined by a stellar line up of some of Vancouver’s best musicians and with the vast experience between these accomplished musicians; a tightly knit group is crafted and they are performing their unique style for engagements locally and internationally.

I hope all is well with you all and that life is always finding you healthy and happy. As some of you know, while I was in California this winter visiting my son, the person that I sub-let my place to, someone who I thought was a friend, stole every single piece of me gear.............all the way down to my music stand. Gear that I have been working hard for, accumulating and upgrading for over twenty years. As you all can imagine, to loose ones tools to create, write and perform is a debilitating blow and some of the personal gear such as my vintage, pristine Epiphone acoustic guitar is irreplaceable, but having anything to write on would be grand.
