Artist: Paper Rock Scissors
Title: Hummingbirds and Butterflies
My musical life began the day I was born, or maybe even earlier. My parents were both accomplished musicians, and it was music that first brought them together as a couple.

My childhood home was filled with music and my parents encouraged me to study piano, guitar and voice through the Ontario Conservatory of Music, private lessons and youth choirs. I literally learned to read music at the same time I learned to read the alphabet, and both kinds of writing are second nature to me.

Steve, Gord and I met at a college radio station and we have been making music together ever since, under the name Paper Rock Scissors. SoundClick has ranked Paper Rock Scissors among its top ten unsigned bands. We have had number one songs on the Acoustic, Classical, Country, Pop, Rock and World charts as well as top ten songs in genres ranging from Beach to Bluegrass.

More recently, I have completed the Popular Songwriting program at the Royal Conservatory of Music, studying under hit songwriter and respected educator, John Capek.

I feel like I'm carrying a musical torch that has been passed down to me from my formal teachers and informally from generation to generation. It's not just my parents, three of my grandparents and all of my uncles were also serious musicians.

I try to write songs that they could be proud of and, with the help of my good friends Steve and Gord, find ways to get them heard.

Hope you enjoy our music!
Finally got this done! I was ready to do this song, and got sick and LOST MY VOICE! Suffice it to say I got it back, and I've posted a new song. Head over and have a listen to 'As It Rains'.

Many Thanks & God Bless
~Mocha
