I've been a fan of music since the single digits -- probably beginning when my parents bought me a turntable for my fourth or fifth birthday along with some records. Around that same time I delved into my mother's collection of records, including tons of Motown, Aretha Franklin, and Jimi Hendrix -- just to name a few. I also had a strong interest in technology and computers, starting with the beloved Commodore 64. Hip-Hop at this time (let's say 85) was very electronic, with tons of drum machines and synthesizers. Upon hearing a few songs I was hooked. The first I vividly remember was Roxanne Shante's "Roxanne Rox." The second most significant record was probably Herbie Hancock's "Rockit," which gave a through introduction to scratching. From that point on I've been a beat addict who loves playing with turntables and samplers.
Thanks for the add.
Nice to meet you.
Donīt be a stranger, letīs keep in touch.
How are you?
