decaying orbit's SoundClick blog - Decaying Orbit's "Ifurin"
Decaying Orbit has returned with a vengeance from hell with their long awaited third full length release "Ifurin". The album is 21 songs from the darkest recesses of The Morgue studios. The album begins with the aptly titled 'Back to the Grave' and continues on with an assault of the hardest most violent tracks in the bands history. However at the same time the album has a softer side revealing a more anguished tone, a suffering twisted mixture of despair and love. 'Ifurin' is Decaying Orbit's most structured album to date while still maintaining the noisy, experimental edge that one would expect. The album's atmosphere is manic depressive at best, angry, sarcastic, anguished, it speaks of love and hate, sex, drugs, violence, death. The recording process was slow due to the studio being relocated three times during the sessions, there were also equipment issues that had to be resolved, not to mention Mike's rmpant alcoholism, drug addiction and mental illness. However all of this insanity created a very electric atmosphere to record this album, there were a lot of very intense feelings that were displayed in the raw on 'Ifurin'. The lack of funds also has slowed things down quite a bit. It was one hell of a journey, in Mike's words "I would have given up completely if it wasn't for Willow at my side and all of my listeners encouragement." The album is Free For DownLoad as a huge Thank You to everyone who has listened and supported me all the way, my highest Gratitude!
