dberla's SoundClick blog - WHOM CAN I TURN TO - (Kenen puoleen voisin kaeaentyae)
WHOM CAN I TURN TO - (Kenen puoleen voisin kääntyä)
Finnish words and music by Marja Väisänen 1995
English translation by Dave Berland 2009

After much prayer and E-Mails we were able to get this song transtated into English. When I first heard the Hospital Choir in Helsinki sing this song, I really wanted to do it in English so that many others may get the chance to hear and also recieve a blessing from this wonderful song of hope in Christ
The English version is on my music page
but you can hear the choirs sing this song here or visit there site and check out the original version

thank you

This is a collaboration with Dave Berland. Dave heard our choir singing this song in Finnish and got an idea to sing and play with us. So he sings in the chorus in English with us and plays the guitar. This is a real joy and privilege to us. The modern technology makes this kind of collaboration possible. Thank you, Dave, for your awesome part. This reminds me of Heaven - what a wonderful time we are going to have there with Jesus and each other!

What's Going On?
A new song with the help of friend Tom Whiteman

Look a any newspaper today and you see - hunger - wars - death - a world torn - people lost with no hope -The stocks fall - jobs are hard to find - But I feel these are all signs of the last days when Christ will come to claim His own - I hope this song that Tom and I wrote bring you some kind of hope and comfort in God

Making Music With My Friends - New Collaboration
There is an old Bill Gaither song that says - Loving God, Loving each other, Making music with my friends.
Well I know exactly what Bill is talking about here with this song by my dear friend in Christ Jacki Wheeler. I heard this song "Into the Sunset" on her site the other day and I just fell in love with it. This is another one of what I like to call Jacki's Jewels. Well I asked her if I could try some guitar stuff along with it and she was excited about the possibilities. Well I laid down a rythem track to go alone with Jacki's wonderful keyboard work. But it needed a good lead guitar added to this mix.The only person I know close by is my Son in Law Jason Mendez. I am proud not only to call him my Son in Law but also to be able to call him a friend. He has a wonderful gift of playing Guitar and is currently in the works of forming a Christian Band. Well with the talent of Jacki and Jason and myself I feel we pulled off a wonderful gift of music.
Thank you Jacki for the opportunity to play along with you on this. We hope to do more with you

STAND STRONG - new song

Are you mad when evil seems to prosper?
When their rights seem all wrong?
When our morals seem to be forgotten,
Are you bothered at all?

We've turned away from what our country's built on;
One nation under God.
We must come back to what we first believed in.
We must come back to God.

I was thinking about the state of our country and it got me thinking about how much we have turned from what the Nation was founded on.

If you like give a listen - It just might stur up thoughts
in your mind about things today

I have some videos up on some things that have been going on at out church this summer.We just had a wonderful VBS program where lots of kids heard the gospel and many were saved. There is an awesome video of the youth group performing a skit that is a very powerful message of hope to the lost. and I also posted up a video our our worship team doing a song - some had asked to see it - so there it is.. I will try to upload more videos as I get them. A great way to share things we all do in the body of Christ
hope you enjoy them..

The Love Of God - New collab With David Byers
One on the wonderful honors of being apart of this great Forum and Web Site is to meet up with so many wonderful people here in this family. I have had the honor of becoming very close to many of you through song and word and I thank you all so much . The time spent here is such a blessing to my heart.

One such friend is my dear friend in Christ -
David Byers
The other day I was poking around His site and heard this wonderful version of the Great old Hymn - The Love Of God
I have always loved this hymn and thought what fun it would be to try singing along with it. So I asked Dave if I could and what turned out I feel is a wonderful bonding of two hearts joined together in song of praise to our Heavenly Father. Thank you Dave for this wonderful hymn and playing. I hope we can do more together

I love this verse in this wonderful Hymn -

Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were ev'ry stalk of earth a quill,
And ev'ry man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above,
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Tho' stretched from sky to sky.

There is just no way Man could ever express his love to God. God's love is so deep and awesome - to write our thoughts down - even an ocean filled with ink would run dry

The Hymns Of Our Faith
As many of you know that visit this site - I have been working on redoing some of the Great Hymns of our faith. I thought it would be a great blessing to all that stop by to have a place where you could share something about how the Hymns have blessed you in your walk with God in life.
I know many of us have grown up with theses great Hymns and have sung them before in our childhood and some even today.
Do you have a special Hymn or a story to tell?
Just share it here - you just might be the blessing that someone needed today

Thank you so much for all your kind comments and thoughts

In Christ
Dave
