I play guitars . . . electric, acoustic and bass. I also play rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing as best as I can . . . I record direct onto Adobe Audition 1.5 (formerly Cool Edit) from a Pod version 2.0.
All the music that I create by myself, goes by the name of Major Snagg, and the music I co-create with my musical collaborator, Tony Webster, is Big Sleep.
The Valiant B's section, is a secret dark corner for the music I find harder to put a label on ! Acoustic, Ambient and other 'experimental creations' live here.
The newest sub-section, 'Archive Avenue', is not a 'Band', but is a collection of my old Analog Recordings. All originally recorded onto my Fostex X-16, 4-track cassette machine. There's some history in there; Tracks from Silent Network (a group I was part of, in a former life . . . lol ), and other things from my musical past. My very own 'Blackmail Corner'

A Scottish Soldiers Lament :
This is a simple, acoustic guitar/ accordian & voice version of one of my all time favourite Scottish melodies. So haunting and beautiful, it could bring a small tear to 'The all-Seeing Eye'. I/we sang this, and many other folk songs at Junior School. It's a melody that has stuck with me all those years. These lyrics are set to the well know melody of, "The Shearing's nae for you my bonnie lassie-o"
There are a few different versions of the lyrics, some rather more 'earthy', about a girl who is pregnant, and so cannot help in the sheep shearing. These are the more romantic lyrics; but still poignant today, as so many soldiers are going off to war in places such as Afganistan.

Greetings!
I've been fairly inactive on SC in a while and it's not going to improve anytime soon. So much to do musicwise ...
I have remixed and mastered first 30 or so of my pieces and they do sound better.
This one is new.

Great work on "Lament" David - loved it. You really do these folk-type tunes well. I've always liked that type of music but could never attempt to play it. I've taken a bit of a rock direction recently - probably about half a dozen rockers have emerged this summer and I've just put the first one up now. Have a listen and let me know what you think.
Cheers for now.
