I am a Professional Drummer, Percussionist and Keyboardist. I also play Acoustic 6 & 12 String Guitar and Bass Guitar. My Primary instrumentation is MIDI-based Keyboard production. My main project, MICHAEL LEE THOMAS, features an instrumental Jazz Fusion / Smooth Jazz style I refer to as "Thermal Romantic", Music from the Edge of Passion. A magical blend of Jazz, New Age, Fusion and elements of Hard Rock. I have released Sixteen MICHAEL LEE THOMAS CDs to date. I also have Three major side projects, THRILL ELEMENT, with Eight CDs; GRAVITY QUIET, with Three CDs and TOM SLAYTON EFFECT, with Two Releases. Thrill Element and Gravity Quiet feature an Electro-Ambient / Soundscape style, and Tom Slayton Effect features an Electro -Organic style with emphasis on Acoustic & Electric Guitar coloration. All the projects feature deep rythmic foundations strongly influenced by my percussive background. While reflective of each other, each project maintains a unique style of presence and appeal. 2012 Production Update: February 1, 2012: Current Recording Production is currently on Hiatus so that Michael Lee can pursue some exciting Studio and Live Drum & Percussion opportunities. Keyboard Production will resume this Summer following the re-build & conversion of Positive Energy One-Texas, (Michael Lee's Private Midi Production Studio) to a Pro Tools 10 facility. The last completed production run was from October 2008, through June 2011, 32 straight months of Tracking,Mixing & Mastering. Once New Production resumes, Michael will finish Composition and Recording for the 18th 'MICHAEL LEE THOMAS' CD, 'Sometime Next Future' and the 10th 'THRILL ELEMENT' CD, 'Oceans On Mars', due out in late 2012.
