I am a Professional Drummer, Percussionist, Keyboardist and Guitarist/Bassist. My Primary instrumentation is MIDI-based Keyboard production. My main project, 'MICHAEL LEE THOMAS', features an instrumental Jazz Fusion / Smooth Jazz style I refer to as "Thermal Romantic". Music from the edge of passion. A magical blend of Jazz, New Age, Fusion and elements of Hard Rock. I have released Fourteen Michael Lee Thomas CDs to date. I also have Three major side projects, 'THRILL ELEMENT', 'GRAVITY QUIET' and 'TOM SLAYTON EFFECT'. 'Thrill Element' and 'Gravity Quiet' feature an Electro-Ambient / Soundscape style, and 'Tom Slayton Effect' features an Electro -Organic style with emphasis on Acoustic & Electric Guitar coloration. All the projects feature deep rythmic foundations strongly influenced by my percussive background. While reflective of each other, each project maintains a unique style of presence and appeal. I began my career as a Hard Rock Drummer and although I will never leave those roots behind, I have evolved into the world of complex Keyboard composition and production. The Third and Latest GRAVITY QUIET CD, 'Storms In Low Orbit', was released on-line at the Soundclick.com GRAVITY QUIET music website, March 17, 2009. The CD contains 14 Unreleased cuts featuring another menu of Deep and Adventurous, Instrumental New Age/Soundscapes. Each song also features a Sci-Fi storyline, as those previously on the first Two GRAVITY QUIET releases. The On-Line CD is available for downloadable sale there now.
