The first two things in my world to catch my attention were music and art.

At age 3 my father overheard me singing, "They're Coming to Take Me Away, to the Funny Farm." I've been singing ever since. At 14 I stopped just listening to the radio and started learning to play the guitar. That was in 1973. My first original song was "The Dirty Sock Blues. By 1978 I was married to the gnarliest "chick" guitarist I'd ever met, or played with - Jeanie.

We started out in high school choir, on to church bands and traveling bands. We lived in a van on the road with our cat, Tuscanino Knobscoff [AKA Knobby] for 3 years while going to college and playing music anywhere that would have us.

We now have two kids: Vaughan 5, who is likely to end up a drummer and a singer; Rachel, who began playing the piano at age 2, and was playing Beethoven before she was 3. She is now 13 and is the hottest jazz flutist you're likely to hear today. That along with her killer piano chops and we have a family band in the making. I just wish I was about 10 years younger. :-)

And, the second thing to catch my attention: Art

My mother is an excellent oil painter - primarily of horses and desert scenes. She saw that I had a knack for drawing at a young age, and so encouraged me to pursue my art from that very early age.

Today I paint in both oils and watercolor, as well as computer illustration and digital fine art.

My time is filled with family, painting, playing guitar, & writing music.
