WCER Is Back On The Air!!!
Hello all!

Just wanted to take time to let you know that WCER is back online and on the air, or Web should I say. Scotty D and I have been working frantically to get the site and database up and running and our mission has thus far been a success. We are happy to announce that we are now streaming 24/7!!! Choose your favorite channel, or enjoy them all. We hope there is something for everyone! If there are particular artists you would like to hear or introduce us to, drop Scotty or me a line and we'll do our best.

We would also like to ask that all of you who are interested to please join our forum on the main website and our social network on Ning. We also have various other networking/ space pages which are linked in the scrolling index of the WCER homepage and listed at the bottom of this bulletin and we would like to invite all of you to join those sites as well.

We hope to see all of you; and please drop us a line and let us know how we're doing,

Cos

Friends of WCER: Your Attn. is Required!
Dear friends,
We here at Cosmic Elephant Radio wish to apologize for the disappearing act. We had some technical issues which have since been resolved. We are back on the web with a brand new site called elephantradio.org. This new site is still under construction, but will soon be fully functional and ready to help you promote yourselves in an independent format.
Along with the new site, we will also be unveiling a new show. The new show will feature Cos and Scotty D discussing topics suggested by our web visitors. This will be a truly “loose” show in that we are not going to restrict the topics people suggest. This new show promises to be a unique listen.
The new elephantradio site will feature a new streaming format as well. When a user gets to the site, they will have options for a “channel” to listen to. There will be a live 24 hour feed going out, plus on-demand archives.
The artist listings will still be a highlighted feature of the site and we’re going to make this site as user-friendly as possible. Elephantradio.org is funded by donations and advertising fees.
If you wish to remain an active part of Cosmic Elephant Radio, or were a part of and can no longer participate, please pop an email to cos@elephantradio.org or scottyd@elephantradio.org. We are in the process of reorganizing and housecleaning our database, so contact from you is kind of necessary in that respect.
Thanks for your time!
Sincerely.

Cos – Proprietor / Programming Manager
Scotty D – Proprietor / Programming Manager / Developer

P.S. Sorry about the form letter. We usually prefer the “personal touch” but we wanted to make sure everyone got the heads-up about the changes here at WCER. We do look forward to hearing from you.

HELP WANTED GENERAL
Hello all. Just want to take to ask once again for assistance in helping us spread the word about WCER and the great Independent artists we play. We have always been dedicated to the idea of promoting artists and creating a fun atmosphere to interact with us and featured artists in some cases; at least the few that have used the blog and forum. It is first of all very important to have listener support, or what we are doing is for nothing…and we can’t have that.

Some of you have mentioned that you are willing to help us in our endeavors and at this stage in the game, we’re gonna have to call you on it. That is a joke, but really…we do need all of your help to make this a fruitful and maybe one day lucrative adventure for all of us. Below is a list of what we think we need help with, but please feel free to step in and say, “I can do this, it will help”. Input is always in need around here so please feel free to make suggestions at any time.

Networking: A definite must here. We need people, who first of all like the show enough to recruit listeners whenever possible. I don’t want people to think we’re spammers, but I want to bring new listeners in using tactful measures. Use your imagination here. Attracting people to join mailing lists and the forum helps to let us know that folks are actually paying attention and that’s super important.

PROMOTION: This kinda falls in the same category as networking, but it is a bit different. We need folks to promote us on their sites as well as us promoting them. Finding people to exchange banners, join rings, etc would help a bundle. Even if you just print off a business card and drop it at your local grocery store message board that would be appreciated. Again, be creativebig grin :D

RADIO PLUGS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS: We need people to make recordings. You know “This is Jane Doe from Addis Ababa and you’re listening to blah blah.” Artists, this would be a special request we ask of you.

TOUR AND EVENT DATES: Artists are encouraged to use the main website forum and post their event information. Alternatively, you could always send us a text file and we can post it for you. Either way we would like to include more information about the folks we play.

DONATIONS: I am sorry to bring that into the equation, but eventually we need money. Equipment and software are not cheap and when something needs replaced, we’ll need something to fall back on. This is something we are unsure how to address, so if you have some ideas of how we should go about a donation campaign please drop me a line.

SPONSORSHIPS: We could use of few of those. Again, this is something we do not want to dive into blind. We don’t want to commercialize, but again…eventually we want to do this full time 24/7. Needless to say, money is going to be a factor in this at some point if it is going to be something besides a little corner of the Internet. Definite help wanted there.

I am sure we will need help in other categories and this is now way too long, so I’ll stop it here. Please take the time to consider what you can do for Radio Cos and let us know at your earliest convenience. We can do this, but we need help. It’s a good Cos…I mean cause ;0~

Take care and hope to hear from you,
Cos

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen
This week’s programs at WCER are being postponed. We are going into a transition of old to new; yes Scotty D is getting the new website together. Please be patient while we remodel and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Scotty promises the new site will be not only unique, but cosmic as well. The current site and shows are available, but the new shows are on hold until next week.

We would also like to take this time to ask all of you to PLEASE come join the effort. We are trying to promote our friends, neighbors, local garage bands, etc, and your help is REQUESTED! We cannot do this on our own and if nobody listens, then what’s the point? Artists we ask that you help. We want to promote all of you to the fullest extent, but Scotty and I already have a lot on our plates. Your help would be a valuable asset in helping us spread the word.

Listeners, we love and need your support also. If you like the music you hear on WCER, then by all means, please tell your family and friends to tune us in. We would most definitely appreciate it.

Help us make a mark on society together and become a trusted name in independent entertainment.

Luv from Indy
Cos

COS WANTS YOU PLEASE RESPOND
Hey all, well the debut webcast is available, the bugs are pretty much worked out of the studio equipment, I am in the midst of recruiting more artists, BUT I NEED HELP.

There is a lot of hats I have to wear to keep WCER up and trying to get some content generated for the main website unfortunately has had to sit on the backburner while I work on the programming. Plus, Scotty D and I are talking about developing a more interactive, data driven website in the near future, but WE NEED CONTENT; good content and lots of it.

I am looking for volunteers to help with certain functions of WCER. Here is at least a partial list of what I am looking for:

Someone to write music and artist reviews.
Someone to help keep up with artist PR stuff.
Someone to help direct traffic to the blog and website forum.

I am sure there is much more I need help with. I will be doing at least 4 shows per week and they are extremely time consuming. Also, I must continue to recruit artists. That in itself is a fairly lengthy process...find the artist, review the music, if I like it write to them, follow up, follow up, follow up, the data entry and reviews for information pages...ect....so you see I can definitely use your assistance.

If you are interested in helping WCER grow and promote some fantastic music then please drop me a line at derrik@radiocos.org. Your help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance and luv from Indy,
Cos

Spatial Waves Now Cosmic Pulse
In case you haven't noticed, the Spatial Waves program has been renamed. I felt that Pulse made more sense. Spatial Waves did not reflect the scope of the genres portrayed by the name. Cosmic Pulse relates more to the varying tone of WCER and the artists I play. Eventually, if time permits, I may bring back Spatial Waves as a Ambient Space only program...only if time permits.

Stay Tuned
