Title: Setting Sun
Hi, my name is Brian Lucas and I play atmospheric, experimental music with bluesy overtones. I stopped playing guitar in my early teens and never picked one up again until a couple of years ago. Now all this music that has been bottled up in my head over the last three decades is slowly starting to come out.

I love the Blues and basically anything to do with guitars. My favorite guitarists are David Gilmour for his unimaginable phrasing and double bends, BB King for his sweet vibrato, Robin Trower for his soulful tone and Stevie Ray Vaughan for the raw energy and emotion he poured into every note he played.

I also enjoy many other genres of music. I grew up listening to everything from Bluegrass, Jazz, Funk, Rock and of course the Blues. My own music is a combination of those many different styles and influences and is from the heart in hopes of creating a peaceful and atmospheric experience. I just try to play soulfully with all the emotion and feeling that I can draw upon and hopefully that is conveyed to the listener.

I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to visit and I hope you enjoy listening.

Coconut Blues Club: I just wanted to extend an invitation to a really hip virtual blues venue at SoundClick called “Coconut Blues Club”. The site is run by a wonderful blues lover from the UK, Jude Law. Please stop over and check out the fantastic job she is doing of spotlighting new artists as well as current collabs from some of the veteran SC members. There are several venues so be sure to check them all out or just stop by to enjoy the tunes playing on the jukebox. Either way I promise you won't be dissapointed.

Once you're there be sure to check out the Collab room and grab a handful of free cashews on the way. Stop by the Manager...
Boutique Effects at www.tonetronix.com: I just wanted to share with you a great place for vintage gear and boutique pedals called TONETRONIX. It's ran by the very knowledgable and friendly Nick Conti and he offers quite the selection of high end effects.

I just ordered the Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe and the MI Audio Crunch Box. I can't wait to record with them so keep checking back for new material...and go visit Nick at http://www.tonetronix.com

Take it Easy,
"Hammer Down" # 1 on Guitar Rock Chart: Another great surprise today. "Hammer Down" reached # 1 on the Rock Guitars Chart on 1/19 and "Setting Sun" is still holding at # 1 in Blues Charts. What a great honor to be listed on the charts with all the other fantastic artists here at SoundClick.

Thanks to everyone that took the time to give my songs a listen. A special thanks as well to all that have added them to your stations. I am humbled and blessed.

Shine On...
"Setting Sun" makes it to #1 in Blues: Well, am I ever humbled. Setting Sun reached # 1 in the Blues General on 1/13 and makes it to # 1 in the Blues Charts on 1/14. What a great way to begin the new 2008 year.

Thanks to all my friends for taking the time to give it a listen and all of you that added my song to your station. There are some fantastic artists here and I just feel blessed to be a part of this great SoundClick community.

Peace
Guitar World March 2008 issue: I got my March issue of Guitar World in the mail yesterday. As usual I can't wait to read every article and lesson so I headed for the house to relax and tear into it.

As I started flipping through it I about fell off my chair when I saw my picture on page 28 in the Defenders Of The Faith section.

I had submitted it so long ago that I had given up on it ever making it to print. No one from Guitar World confirmed that I was being selected so I was quite surprised when I saw my pic.wink ;)

Hey,

I wanted to let you know that I just posted a new song that I think you will enjoy.
Not really very new though. It was written in 1847. LOL

It's an old Christmas standard.
O Holy Night (Cantique de Noel)

I hope I did the song justice. wink ;)

I'd appreciate it if you could give it a spin when you get a chance and let me know what you think.

Hey,

How's it going? I've been pretty busy myself.

I wanted to let you know that I uploaded a new song called:
"Without You (Ballad of Dona)"
It's actually a previously unpublished song written by my brother Paul back in the 80's. Don't let the title fool you. It's not your everyday ballad. wink ;)
I'd appreciate it if you could take it for a spin when you get a chance and let me know what you think.

I also have given "Slay the Dragon" a complete re-mix. If you liked it before I think you'll really like it now. Turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. I'd appreciate any feedback you can offer.

All of my songs have been recently re-mastered for more dynamic range and a less fatiguing sound. Hopefully this will result in a more pleasant listening experience for all.

More songs coming soon! smile :)
Thank you for your support.
