Bard of Ely, whose real name is Steve Andrews, comes from Cardiff in Wales but moved to Tenerife in 2004. Bard of Ely is a freelance writer, a columnist for the Tenerife Sun, contributor to Tenerife News, a singer-songwriter, an author, a poet, a compere, photographer and artist. Bard of Ely was the compere for the Avalon Stage at Glastonbury Festival twice and also performed on several occasions as a singer-songwriter, as well as doing the same at the Green Man Festival. Bard of Ely's song You're a Liar, Nicky Wire, was rave reviewed in NME and fronted the Taffia EP on Crai Records. Bard of Ely's song Sound of One was used in Family Affairs on Channel 5. Bard of Ely was a presenter of In Full View on BBC Choice and he has appeared on many other TV programs.

Mañana taken down because it's not working: Just to let you all know that I have had to remove my track Mañana because I discovered it wasn't playing asit should and had annoying sounds coming into it. I deleted it and uploaded it again from my PC where the original track plays fine but the same thing happened and I have given up! A great shame because it was at 23 in the dance charts but I don't want messed up versions of my song online and can't find ay way of fixing it!

Number 1 on Myspace Spain for Folk Rock: WOW - I just had a great surprise when I went to check on my chart positions at Myspace and found I am number 1 in Folk Rock unsigned for Spain!

Pic of my beard in BBC news story: Saturday night I was trying to get a BBC news story as a potential candidate for a moustache and beard festival in the UK and was in touch with someone called Dawn who wanted more photos for a possible slideshow. Great, I thought - I am going to get a story and I sent a whole lot of pics! But then Sunday I was in touch with another BBC writer called Susanna who said she couldn't use what I had sent because I wasn't actually in this year's festival but that I should enter for next year! Now this morning I have just had an email from some friends to tell me they saw my pic, so looks like I went in after all! lol
