Title: Guiding Star
***WELCOME TO 2009***

INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF
......... ASTRONOMY .........

It’s not unusual to hear that the scientific point of view “sterilizes” or “unromanticizes” what it focuses. No matter how, it works and gives us access to wonderful advances in countless aspects of our welfare, only possible through the joint effort of generations dedicated to techno-scientific understanding.

Aeons past, when primitive men sat around the fire, looked at the night sky and imagined the stars as others celestial fires, they certainly created art related to that. Nowadays, we contemplate the sky with knowledge of the life of the stars, that their light may be the support for civilizations in planetary systems and their collapse may affect catastrophically an entire region of the galaxy. It shouldn't be considered nonsense the fact that this new manner of seeing the skies might also generate a subjective manifestation. Thus, the “coldness” inherent to science does not create necessarily an obstacle to the artistic interpretation of its fruits and a creative mind will always discover new ways with dramatic potential yet to be explored and find people that appreciate them.

Lyrics:
On a clear night out in the country,
I gaze up in the sky
A summer star tonight.

Searching for a lonely light
That passes others by.
My fascination to delight.

Summer star burning bright, guide me to a life.
Summer star dancing 'round, give me an answer why.

On a clear night in the city
She looks up in the sky
A summer star to light...
New Video: "Giant Eyes": Live at North-American / Brazilian Cultural Institute Theater, Southern Brazil.
Adrianne Simioni - lead guitar
Zozimo Rech - rhythmic guitar
Daniel Ruschel - bass
Claudio Cavalcanti - drums

Greetings!
I've been fairly inactive on SC in a while and it's not going to improve anytime soon. So much to do musicwise ...
I have remixed and mastered first 30 or so of my pieces and they do sound better.
This one is new.

Hi Zozimo and Adrianne,

Thank you for the wonderful collab track: Summer Star (RedEyeC).
Once again you both show great versatility and professionalism (as well as awesome playing !!).

Your videos seem to get better all the time .. next up, maybe Astronomusic - the movie???

Just found out we have one of the darkest-sky locations on the planet right here in the UK .. it's at Galloway Forest Park in Scotland, so I'm trying to get up there next year some time (maybe you could lend me that lovely telescope that's on your page ..lol).

best regards,

pete

Hi Zozimo & Adrianne, love the new photgraphs on your page. I've been busy recording another folk song, "A Scottish Soldiers Lament". Folk songs and acoustic guitar especially seem to be featuring more and more in my music pages. There's no denying that this is a beautiful old melody. It's one that I've loved for years (we sang it at Junior School). I've posted some information about the song on my music page. Here's the link:-

It's rather poignant as I recorded it on 11th. November.
Hope you like it. David
