Anita Ferrer, The Asbury Park Angel blazes her voice to this generation via her latest work, Mod Prophet. The founder of Brave Flame Productions is more than a songwriter and performer. She is a passionate and articulate social/spiritual commentator and essayist concerned about the issues that assail our young people today. The former foster child and bulemia victim turned spokesperson and visionary has candidly shared her experiences and secrets of surviving tragedy with victims of domestic violence, misplaced women, the prison population, the physically challenged and the homeless.
She talks about the God who gives second and third chances and who transforms the most devastated person into a successful and confident one. God gave her a third chance after she recieved a Lyme Disease diagnosis in 1992 which interrupted her forward momentum. But only for a year.... despite the difficult and expensive recovery protocol, she was impassioned to record her first CD, "I'll Fly High" chronicling her journey into spiritual and physical wellness. She performed her original repertoire at various well-known venues, including the Stone Pony and Saint, Asbury Park, New Jersey, The Bitter End and Kenny's Castaways, Manhattan. Her following continued to grow during her two-year tenure at Starbucks, Sea Girt and Borders Books both, New Jersey. Her love for children and young people grew and she became more troubled about the negative influences of the music industry and societal ills that continue to perpetuate our culture. She seeks to make a difference and shine a light in a dark world.

She hopes to be like her role model Mother Teresa whose love changed one life at a time through acts of practical service. She has never been afraid to get her hands dirty or afraid to get personally involved with those she meets in her travels.
Though her decade long tenure delivering telephone books as an independent contractor for PDC company to finance her CDs has been difficult, she rejoices about the spiritual harvest. The physically demanding work can be draining, but affords her the freedom to do her outreach/ministry and also to perform on the week-ends. RELAX...any pious and orthodox Christians who are offended with my site and images. Your Bible rebuke and quote to me may be be, "abstain from every appearance of evil" per Paul the apostle. My response back to you is that "God can use everything and anything for His glory or to get our attention"-even little children or secular things. Jesus said, "Judge righteously." I'm blessed to be salt and light in this dark world. I'm IN the world, but not OF it. Just as the Lord used Queen Esther's exterior beauty to "charm" King Ahasherus and save her people, the Jews from extermination, God can use me to draw wayward souls and especially lost young men who think that the females are for their "lustful" pleasure and are nothing but "eye candy." I'm here on Soundclick and Myspace to prove them wrong, that God created me for HIS glory and pleasure and as a tool to draw people unto Himself. Look around you....I guarantee you that FEW of our youthful peoplulation are rushing to the "religious" websites with the pious, boring and conservative presentation. A very few are, but we should be be excited to have young people drawn to Christianity, buy whatever means possible as long as we are not using secular, titilating or deceitful measures. Pastors, elders and Christian lay, people-there IS a very fine line line between attractiveness- which everyone can appreciate, both Christian and non Christian AND sexually alluring measures. I believe that the Holy Spirit will guide and direct me in my desire to allure our young people in a most attractive way, but also a way in which is still within the limits of Christian appropriateness. I've had to support myself and finance ALL of my Christian resource material by performing at secular restaurants. WHY? Because churches and most Christian coffeehouses do not feel they that we should be paid or supported for our gifts and callings. I am gratefiul for people like Lisa Tevis of the Oakland House Restaurant, Red Bank, NJ, who hired me to perform at her fine establishment for 3 years. Because of her belief in my voice and talent, I was able to pay my rent on time pay for my car and not have to "shack" up with my boyfriend." If anyone has a complaint, then talk to God about it.

MISSION & VISION STATEMENT
MOD PROPHET
A powerful, guitar-driven work, speaking to a modern generation.

Our youth are seduced by secular rap. hip-hop and alternative/death metal music every day.They are willing to die to "be cool" at any cost. It's the "look at me" generation. Kids from solid Christian families are experimenting with pot, alchohol and heavy drugs at even younger ages, some as early as ten! Contemporary Christian music is not influencing them. Christianity is weakl Christians are geeks.
What can we do?

Kids today think they know everything. They do not want to listen to what we, (over 30's) have to say. Our media, magazines and music blares sexuality, excess, drugs and pleasure. Living in the present and not pondering later consequences has beguiled many into awful demises and thwarted God's great potential for every young person.

I hope to present a music and interview documentary to our youth about the "wages of sin" leading unto death via my MOD PROPHET CD. It will show me being interviewed and speaking about my past battles (and victories) over peer pressure, self confidence, eating orders issues, chastity, child abuse, domestic violence and and God's provision and blessing. It will contrast with interviews with friends and family members who have chosen a lifstyle devoid of Christ.

Goal:
To network with top-notch industry professionals who are committed Christians and who can help me carry this vision through to present this DVD as an educational tool specifically to our young people, but also to anyone imprisoned by a negative lifestyle.

To provide our young people with options, Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, provider and confidence of their lives.

My burden:
God cries for the unessessary sufferings that has beguiled His creation. I have God's heart and it is my greatest desire to see people saved and redeemed from their prisons. Not a day goes by that I don't desire to be out on the streets preaching His glorious emancipation through my music and testimony. Just go to myspace.com and see metal and rap artists spewing dictums of sex, lavisciousness, revelry, self-centeredness. It is a stink in God's sight. "LOOK AT ME!!!" That is what these music role models are portaying and the kids are eating it up. Their security is in how many people adore them. We are in the last times and kids are seduced by being idolized, but God will not have it- for the proud shall be abased and put to shame. The humble shall be exalted. "When the nukes go off and world war three rages, there will be no "rap & metal gods." Everyone will be piddling on the streets like mangy dogs, desparetly seeking a drop of water for their parched tongues. God's faithful will be with Him in glory. Come to Him now while it is still easy.
