I am a 21 year old guitarist living in south Charlotte, NC. I enjoy all sorts of rock, but prefer to play more progressive/technical metal than anything. I have become obsessed with instrumental artists like Animals As Leaders, Cloudkicker, Chimp Spanner, Halcyon, Scale The Summit, etc. Veil of Maya, Periphery and Between The Buried And Me are also major influences, along with Incubus, Tool and more "alternative rock" (Though, you may not hear it often in my playing). I do not believe I play as well as many of the metal bands, but tend to use bands like them to compare to the sort of music I play. I listen to everything, and wish to eventually incorporate more elements of classical, jazz and whatever outlandish sounds I can grasp. I am also hoping to meet some people with similar musical interests who are looking to get serious with music. Please let me know if you live in the south Charlotte area and are looking for a guitarist for a progressive rock/metal band or semi-put-together band, preferably with the motifs of multiple changes in time signature and strange noodling in guitar riffs.
