Title: Millicent
I began writing songs in 1959 at age 12 and had my first songs published in the mid 70's in Nashville with cuts by indy artists and Caprice Records.

In October 1969 I landed my first radio job with WTRX (Pop-Rock) in Flint, Michigan. Three years later I was offered a job right down the road at WKMF, Flint's top rated country station.

In the mid 80's I was invited by Dr. Art Bond to host a song writing workshop at Calhoun college in Decatur, Alabama. Dr. Bond wanted to see if there was enough local interest to support new Music Industries courses within the Fine Arts department. There was! Debbie Cochran, author of Collin Raye's "My Kind Of Girl" was a student in that first class.

2008 has been a very productive and exciting year for me. My songwriting buddy John Lott convinced me to set up a MySpace page "Wayne R Brown and Friends" and within a few weeks I had not only received an invitation to this years Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival but had one of my songs selected by Jerry Corbitt for his next album project. Jerry was a founding member of the Youngbloods and the Corbitt & Daniels Band with Charlie Daniels. He has also been pitching the song to other artists and things are looking very bright for the future of "The Treasure" co written with Brenda Perry/Jack Taylor & Janet Devers.

Hey,

I wanted to let you know that I just posted a new song that I think you will enjoy.
Not really very new though. It was written in 1847. LOL

It's an old Christmas standard.
O Holy Night (Cantique de Noel)

Or just click the pic. wink ;)

I hope I did the song justice. wink ;)

I'd appreciate it if you could give it a spin when you get a chance and let me know what you think.

Thanks for your support. smile :)

P.S. I had to seriously rush the song to get it posted for Halloween so don't expect perfection. wink ;) I'm sure I'll wind up going back and working on this one in the future.
Enjoy

Hey,

How's it going? I've been pretty busy myself.

I wanted to let you know that I uploaded a new song called:
"Without You (Ballad of Dona)"
It's actually a previously unpublished song written by my brother Paul back in the 80's. Don't let the title fool you. It's not your everyday ballad. wink ;)
I'd appreciate it if you could take it for a spin when you get a chance and let me know what you think.

I also have given "Slay the Dragon" a complete re-mix. If you liked it before I think you'll really like it now. Turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. I'd appreciate any feedback you can offer.

All of my songs have been recently re-mastered for more dynamic range and a less fatiguing sound. Hopefully this will result in a more pleasant listening experience for all.

More songs coming soon! smile :)
Thank you for your support.

I do a lot of writing with "friends", hence the name of my band page. But the site is focused on getting our songs out to artists, producers, and publishers who do not require a polished demo to recognize the full potential of a well written song. Some of the "demos" here are early takes saved as archived references for future studio projects. But as they used to say in Nashville: "It's all about the song." Not the quality of the pitching demo.
