I'm a Cornish College of the Arts Classical Music Composition Major in my Junior year.
I'm very interested in Music from all cultures especially India, Indonesia, Mid-Eastern, etc.
I am learning more in depth about ancient tuning systems and generations of micro-tonal music. I hope to design a site soon with a lot of interactive features for users to experiment with. Anyone want to help me program some?

Senior Recital:
It was tough but I finally have finished my Senior Recital November 2nd. The recital was a complete success. I'm still shocked as to the standing ovation I received. It was so unexpected that I didn't even prepare an encore! A large amount of freshmen came to my recital as well as friends and my sister.
Songs of particular interest was the String Quartet, "Black Widow", flute solo, "Finality", and the harpsichord solo, "f(x)".
My voice really came out this time in all of my music. Perhaps I will do another concert after school is out.

My Junior Recital:
My Junior recital was a complete success. All compositions from there are on this site (soundclick.com/thunderwave), plus all compositions ever performed at Cornish. My Senior Recital will be in the fall of this year. I am scared that it may be too expensive and finances are grim. This semester has been tough. I have too many ideas to put on paper in time for people to practice them. If only I had time to practice them. Unfortunately most of my works aren't solos and I try not to stick to piano. I should write a nice Koto solo. This time is not the time for new pieces. I must refurbish my pieces for my Senior recital and get done with it.

My latest work :
I was learning about the music lattice in college and was informed about two major issues of tuning keyboards. One was the syntonic comma and the other was the great diesis.
I always loved dissonances so I wanted to explore the great diesis and progress in thirds.
I drew myself a music lattice representing all the notes I wanted to use on my koto:
Each string is tuned to the exact just intonation of each note.
I recorded each string being picked by finger and picked by the Tsume (A plucking pick).
I then transfered the samples to my synthesizer and began composing using minimalist ideas. Similar to Phil...

Nick,
I was checking out your station and thought that you might be interested in my new song "Cosmic Unconsciousness". It is inspired by the soundtracks of 80's video games. While I didn't make it 8-bit sounding, I'm told that it captures the old-school video game theme music vibe pretty well. Let me know what you think!
