Alright

I can’t say enough good things about this. Super smooth throwback style complete with horns, they have put together this fabulous collection of new tunes in a classic style. What else could you want out of music? Cool beat, clean keyboards, classic wah-pedal rhythm guitar held down by claps on 2 and 4, and all held down by a perfect bass line.

The second section is excellent. They take the simple theme from the beginning and maximize what it can do. Brilliant how the song breaks open, like the song starts over, bass and drums go alone for a few bars and then the brass and keyboards fill the sound back up. Where everything had been built around 4 in the...
Heartstrings: So im working on a new track called heartstrings..a TRT version and a Scorpio version..mines will be the one posted just w vox..hers will be more NeoSoul based and groove a lil more..im excited..its taken 9 yrs but we finally got to work together and hopefully we will do much more in the future....one more member of the Complex Family big grin :D ( thats my name for us..not anything official) Meanwhile..preliminary plans ahve gone forth for work on the new Muse Machine stuff..we are still sorting it all out and will keep u posted.
Beginning of Story.....: I think ive figured out the lineup...the first half will be the party songs..the electric afterparty...second side the rock and introspective stuff...Electric aftermath..climaxing with.....well you'll just have to wait and see now wont you big grin :D

The Rascal Theorist

This Love_Eternal

This is so sweet and smooth. A real throwback to the classic golden age of Motown. Except for the high quality sound, the super stereo drums and a few other tell tale signs of modern recording techniques, you would swear this tune had been written and recorded forty years ago. They could throw some vinyl dust and scratch sound on it, turn up the midrange and you would say, “How come I never heard this hit before?”.

I think I have mentioned this before but the bass p...

thx in advance

I kept waiting for "it". Then kept waiting... then kept waiting... and then by God, IT HAPPENED. The funkalicious masterpiece missing from the slew of super-high rated tracks - anything and everything from the newer works of Rascal Theorist, but ESPECIALLY... The Electric Aftermath?! SIR, I AM HONORED.

But that would imply this song is without flaws, wouldn't it? And we just observed that I seem to have repaired the digging shovel into tip-top shape, ready to dive deep...

The Electric Aftermath - This is quite groovy. Definate throwback to some 70's funk/soul. The percussion is patricularly nice. There is a lot going on here and changeups are common. The bass carries a lot of funk to it. The vocals are excellent performance-wise. The mix is very good considering all the elements you are using. The only thing that sounds a little too synthetic is the piano but its not too bad. Overall it was a very enjoyable listen. Thumbs up.

another Aftermath experience: is this the temptations? the opening had that feel.
wow, soulful singing my dude. This is cool as all get out(where did that expression come from?) I love the funk guitar, I always loved that style of playing, the bass is hot in this song. I'm riding it like a wave baby. this is really quite original to my ears, man that bass is hot! more funk than a mens locker room. another interesting song structure, unorthodox in your approach, but you pulled it off flawlessly.
bottomline
this is some booty shaking, head nodding, funked out groove, with a mellow twist,
i say TASTY

The Electric Aftermath

This is ssssoooooo coooooollll! What totally excellent title cut for your new project. I love it.

This draws me back to some groovin soul from the 70’s, a time when the beat was pulling away from disco and finding its own direction borrowing from some Motown hits and earlier material. Anybody remember a song called “Groove Line”? Of course you remember “Brick House”. The difference here is that the lyrics are much more mature, appealing to the mind.

Every track on here is killer, the bass track is spectacular. A great example of how the rests of silence are just as important as the notes of sound. It’s the breaks and the tight stop s...

Hi Roscoe...

Just a quick hello to introduce myself....we try to get to know folks who like our music enough to list themselves as "a fan."

I just got back from Europe...and I got pretty sick over there...so I've been a bit less active here...but I promise to get back here to listen to some of your stuff...and let you know what I think.

Anyway...pleased to meet you Roscoe (hey, maybe we're distant relatives...we have he same last name!)

Hugs...Mike (NAV)

It's Patrick again. Check out my latest blog to vote for possible Top 10 moments for my music or former bands for this decade. On New Years Eve 2009, I will compile a list of Top 10 memorable moments for Patrick Lew's Band on my blogs on all my webpages. smile :)
Let your friends know about it!
Also. I just formed a Beatles "Merseybeat" inspired band called Bayshore Echo. Page will be up shortly and currently under heavy construction. smile :)
Anyways, I will be working on new music when time permits me. Been busy with school.
See ya around, buddy!
