LEarn to talk to people you never would and branch out. Christianity spread not because believers stayed clicked up but because they took there messages and branched into areas and talked to new people. People they normally would never talk to. Hip hop is about progression.

Example. I was locked up with a dude next to my cell. We talked everyday thru the vents and shared our deepest thoughts and feeling and ryhmes with each other. The brother told me he was going to give up pimping and go to do something more powerful but when I saw him on the street he was back in the Pimp Game and on the same track. Years later the messages we talked of started to appear in his life. When I saw him again on the street he did not even give me the time of day. He passed me off to his girls and lackeys and when I came to congradulate him on his passage into music he passed me if I did not exist but behind bars I was his confidant and friend. Hmmm sound familiar.

Too many of the younger people such as myself are quick to react violent. In desolant times we see the beast of nature rather then the common sense of humanity. In black communities violence, gangs, sterotypical television jive and white washed undying racism linger into the minds of young impressionable black and white childrens, boy and girls alike. I grew up in the streets of Washington D.C. and Baltimore MD. Two of the most dangerous places to live, work or raise a family. I have used violence many times and I am not proud of the results and impact violence has on my life; and on the lives of those I affected with my violence. I have learned from failed pass behavior that I sharp mind and strong tongue are greater then the sword and the swing of my pen or stoke of my keys can change the world far more then the squeezing of my trigger.

In the Bay Area we have a large amount of gangs and lots of gang violence.We lose as a people everyday that we don't walk away from hurting each other. I am a trained martial artist and I understand that my skills and training are not to go around and take advantage of those who cannot defend themselves. I believe that if each person attempts to think before speaking in any intense confrontation that a non-violent conflict result can take place.

Each option is all decided by you, the reader you feel each expiernce for yourself and no one else feels it exactly as you do. Each different output on this expierence contributes to the whole concept of what the expierence truly is. What I'm saying is all of our lives combined have made our culture. We named it Hip Hop, it has existed far beyond most of societies common knowledge yet it thrives with the birth of it name and it suffers under the weight that holds it so high.
If I remain ignorant then my music and my representation of my culture is not pure it is tainted and uneducated and can be overcome by more intelligent people with defined cultural practice. This happened to the mighty tribes of Africa during each religious crusade across the motherland.

In Hip Hop we must me like the Autobots and the Humans and combine our given ability and love to harness the energy to revive our very own OPTIMUS PRIME which I call HIP HOP. Only with the pure music energy and dance vibe can we thrive. Us of negative energy to create light not to harness more dark matter and more support less flake is all it takes.

Kids are great. I love being a dad. My most enjoyable times are when I have them all to my self and we are just talking. The feeling of passing knowledge to the next and molding the future in yourself is quite the feeling. All my friends who are parents certainly can relate.

Kids define who we are and how we become. They are a better reflection of who and what you really are as your strongest and weakest attributes or inheritenly what we pass to our children. I

I hor that the parents do all they can to make sure that they kids in there life and the people around kids set the examples needed to pass down the good moral values and tradtions that make our culture what it is.

Kids can inspire or drive you crazy or both. I suggest you take time to get to know your kids the best you can and instill in them that the are great and loved and the future.

How do you know when enough is enough?
Current mood: busy
Ever ask yourself when is enough enough? I have many times, maybe too many. I often see people who I can easily relate to because of life choices but I seldom find people that make choices from those relations to benefit their lives. Nothing changes for them. New problems but the same ol' _____.

I have learned many wise lessons from my own turmoils that I want to share with you.

1. You are a person, your life has worth and you deserve to have what you want no matter what choices you've made!!

To accept and fully understand this concept is so important. I have been burned by friends,girlfriends, co-workers, associates, band members and so-called supporters alike. Yet each person who burned me derseves the same success and fufillment in life that I seek. It doesn't matter that I went to jail and to prison. What matters is that my choices increase my life and others for benefit and not for consumption. So I made mistakes. We all have yet as a person you have to believe you deserve what it is you want. No Excuses. Visualize your desire make it real in your mind and it will come into your life!

2. Do not compromise your morality for someone else's comfort unless your willing to accept there bed before you lay in it.

If you believe in something, have a certain way of life, refuse to do certain things because the go against you belief, don't give up what make you to make room for some one to break you. For example, I believe in hang drying my blue jeans so they don't fade color. If my roommate washes clothes at home and ands my jeans to the wash and wants to wash my jeans for me. I should not let him unless I tell him to hang dry them. If I don't tell him to hang dry them and he throws the jeans in the dryer and they fade, I cannot be mad at him because I did not tell him because I felt bad and didn't want to make him go more out of his way for COMFORT!

Simply example but I hope it makes the point.

3. Don't waste time and energy on people you think are not honest with you. I believe in honesty. Integrity, mine has been tested many times yet I have succeeded in being proven as a champion and I don't care what others who do not know me intrepet me as. If the look close enough they will see. If they look and still cannot see, then in this lifetime I was not meant to truly interact on any further level with this person. Immediate closure is required and then move on with your life. No closure messes up your pysche until you say or know what where you left off with the person. Try to end conflict peacefully before provoking try stroking. It works.

I's like using a stripper to get you to come into the church or a drug dealer to get you in the clinic. It makes no since.

THE REVOLUTION MUST ME TELEVISED!!


Many of us grew up in households where we witness or were victim to violence and emotional abuse as young children as far back as some can remember. As we grow older we become supsectaple to the understanding of who we are and how we became who we are and how we interact with others as an effect of attaining this knowledge. The building of the foundation of self is the first necessary achievement to attain a successful life and to become a true mc, poet, teacher, or whateva you chose to be, most importantly a parent.

The things we go through give us lessons on how to make decisions in future events; this is the sight of unforseen events called planning. Planning allows a style to develop. Plan to be original always by default and to give you best effort to focus on yourself and search out the attachment stlye you have and define your strenghts and weakness to create a goal of mastering all your emotional and rational processing. Feel what lies under anger's blanket and define how and what you are and then only then can the process begin.


The revolution must begin within My Motto: ALWAYS ROOM TO UPGRADE


Revolt within from that which destructive and focus on that which productive for you.
Adults - Re-Parent yourself. Nuture the self within and grow in control of your breathing and mind and soul.


REcuits to the cause of self expression and truth in all forms of music and against the falsified people.


Continue to boycott sell-out's show's, cd's and labels. Purify the Music!! CReative minds interject truth and creativity into harmony for appreciation and enjoyment not to hear the sterotyped hype marketed into the populus of America. Let our suppressed brothers and sisters, especially poets!! but all artist in everyone style and genre be embraced and uplifted so the messages giving to us to share with the world can be heard and the people will not be trapped and diluted listening to the crap that fills the radio and more people can hear what really is good music and a real message.

Life is full of choices. In our daily lives and in the longevity of our success in being creative and free. The revolution of minds and spirit is the same as the battle of underground and mainstream. The decision to cross over into the unknown is sometimes scary however with a touch of courage and compassion and a little bit of a plan you can make one decision go a long way. I am confident that those interested in this magazine will be intelligent and live with the premise of going against the grain. This is prerequisite to revolutionary thinking, Independence. This is the abilitiy to making decisions for one's self. This is sometimes harder then we except and with various factors such as stress and personal comfort being the lead barricades in progressive choice. Will you choose to join in on a cause because everyone's doing it or elect to stand up for something else. Will you stand or fall? Will you win or lose, the choice is yours alone to decide the way you think about the end result determines the outcome before the action is initialized. This is true because we manifest our on victories and defeats by chosing wether we will see things through to the end or settle halfway and whatch and see what happens. I think when I quit drinking chosing to no longer partake in the brew, that I would help my finance and my social skills with a healthy dose of soberiety.

Well, emcees have chosen to come original or to bite and overuse existing styles in an attempt to clone the success of other artist and not bring anything new to the table. Even the watered down hip hop fan wants to hear something new. The bottom line is to succeed certain decisions must be made and accomplished in entirety for change to occur. I hope every true revolutionist tuned into this article takes a moment to reflect on the way they want to decide to contribute to the world and to themselves and the hip hop community. This is essential to growth because we can you grow 2 if you dod not have a goal or a plan or an idea except you wanna blow up and you got flow. Well flow ain't everything and neither is money. Art and Love and Life and Learning are what stimulate the mind positively. I think that the President, the country, the World political structure socially and the agenda based are a little to the left and not focused directly on how to keep America safe and how to manage the crisis of communication break down happening between the world and my country. I think this is bad decision making on the part of us as a country. However, the Bush office decisions affect everyone in this great nation. They do not reflect the views and rationalisms that I have- "This cabinet sucks and Bush is not the best leader for our needs".

How do your decisions affect those around you? Is it always for the best or what? Ask yourself and then work on the next step......

Ok, here it is. since I have officially announced and requesting the help of the world in a MUSICAL REVOLUTION, I have received many emails and letters about what steps to take and advise on creating the right foundation to see this through. I also have received many who doubt the success of this mission. Let me frank, WE are attempted to change the face of the media, the music played and heard on the radio everywhere, every genre. This WILL piss of people with money and power. That's the point. This will upset those weak at heart.

THIS MOMENT IS NOT FOR BULLSHITTERS, FAKER OR HATERS. THIS IS FOR REAL REVOLUTIONIST WHO BELIEVE AND WILL PUT IN WORK!! To see our vision become a reality we must unite across the globe through local music organizations and establish a coalition of organizations that can grow strong enough in size and force to have an impact and be heard. This starts with you. Will you fight or flight?

I encourage believer to keep the faith and have heart. Showcase your boys, check out the other local acts, even if you don't like rock, rap, country find out why others do. Be creative make statement be heard shake the world!

Anyway, I am not going anywhere. Original Black Kings will not be uprooted only replanted with fresh seedling across the nation and the globe.

Did you know that 75% of new music is garbage and major records labels are aware of this fact? Why do they advertise these sexually explicit and unethical artist or posers as I would call them to people. Why? Because we like that shit. There is a shortage of intelligent and motivating artist and music available in Hip Hop, Rock, Country and R&B currently in the Major Labels. Major Labels are thriving on uneducated television watchers and Camera Ham egoists to take a step into the lion's den known as show business. Granted there are several artist in each genre that are vastly talented, creative and positive, there is very few that are being promoted with the media force of certain less talented and original artists. This is happening because the real artist are herding into the independent market and are being short changed on real distribution deals and marketing promotions, Their is a solution, 2 as a matter of fact.

1) Attack the Major Labels with a boycott on artists who misrepresent the genres, from CD sales to concerts. Including the artist who sell out to fit the growing sterotype of whats hot.

2) Invest in each other and local artist support each other in more creative and monetary ways. Do not just buy CD's invest in the means to become a self sustaining communtiy of Artists and promote from within from local radio to internet to satellite radio stations. Create local web pages that showcase everyone in their own "MYSPACE". Be assertive and educate yourselves on the necessities to see your dreams of stardom come true.

We need a musical revolution that is televised!!

Let us as underground artist work harder at not only feeding ourselves but also encouraging others like ourselves to make the best music we can within our means and as fans and supporters let us not be flaky and half ambitious in our diligence to produce this revolution. Many appear to be down for the cause but when it comes to putting in work many are lazy or absentee.

WHO WILL STEP UP AND JOIN ME! NO CAUSE HAS EVER BEEN OVERLOOKED WHEN THEPEOPLE COME TOGETHER AND FORCE THE WAY FOR THEM TO BE HEARD! LET US FOLLOW THE STEPS OF WOMEN'S RIGHTS & CIVIL RIGHTS AND HAITI AND OF GREAT NATIONS LIKE PALESTINE AND AMERICA AND FORCE A OPENING IN THE MINDS AND EARS OF RADIO AND MAJOR LABELS SO MORE UNDERGROUND ARTIST CAN BE SEEN! THERE IS A BOWL OF FRESH FRUIT SPOILING BECAUSE WE ARE NOT BEING HEARD BECAUSE EVERYONE IS LISTENING TO WHAT THE MEDIA IS TELLING THE KIDS IS HOT!!
