My name is Mike, and I’m a songwriter.
I've been in music all my life- usually playing trumpet through high school/college, and beyond.
Musically, I favored pop/rock all my life, but Garth got me hooked on Country almost 20 yrs ago. After college, my career progressed well, but I knew I wanted to again be part of music- just not how. So now I'm up after the family goes to bed forging on- writing music, screenplays, books- anything to keep the "creative" side fueled while the "day job" (I call it that now) pays for life...
About 8 years ago, I started songwriting in earnest. If you wake up at 2 am with a melody blaring so loud in your head that your hair hums, what do you do? You get up and get it down, or not sleep any more that night.
When you’re driving I-65 to Birmingham and miss three exits because you’re leaving song-snippet voicemails to yourself, what do you do? Find the first rest area and tap it out.
When chords and melody come to mind that send shivers down your spine, what do you do? You plug in the laptop and map it out.
I am blessed, and afflicted, and ALIVE.

What does "Attorney" Really Mean?:
Most people usually associate the title "Attorney" with Lawyer. This begs the question, why do lawyers also call themselves "Attorney at Law"? They seem to be the only profession annointed to use the A word!
Websters defines "Attorney" as: "one who is legally appointed to transact business on another's behalf"
Given this definition, it seems to me there's room for plenty more people to gain the prestigious title of attorney...I gave my roommate in college five bucks to get fast food...by definition, this makes him my "Attorney at Taco".
Our group contribution to buy cases o' beer for a party would then go to our designated "Attorney at Beer", entitling him to walk to the party sto...

Hi!
I wanted to drop by and say hello. I haven't been around much lately as I've been working on getting everything in place for the release my new single "Ain't It Beautiful". Hi Michael
I wish you all a happy and prosperous new year with many hit songs and productions and just maybe that big x-factor type record deal (haha).
What kind of resolutions are you going to make and probably break this year ?, I am definetly going to lose weight (isn't that what i said last year and the year before ? oh well), I am going to learn my instruments even better and concentrate on just one (sure!!), oh and I've made up my mind I'm going to win the lottery and buy a new house with a proper recording studio and employ someone who knows what they are doing ( I can dream good) , oh and finally I am going to write even better songs. Phew!!
