I've been a fan of hip-hop music since the early 1990's when I was introduced to the Wu-Tang Clan. I've been hooked ever since.
I started making my own music a few years later. The first tapes (that's right, tapes) I made were done using only a small boombox. I looped the ends of songs for beats and plugged the mic right into the stereo. I popped a lot of "record" buttons on the tape deck.
As far as influences, I love Andre3000 and Phonte of Little Brother. I think those two have shaped me the most as an artist. Dre's individuality is inspiring and Phonte is just so smooth with his style. These are also the two artists that I HAVE to hear a new verse of theirs as soon as it drops.
As of now, I have two Soundclick band pages. The first, No Hype Productions, is a production company that I started in 2009 with a few friends. I'm trying to make really good, soulful beats for hip-hop artists. The second page, John Brush, showcases my lyrical abilities.
If there are any artists interested in collaborations, just let me know.
