Inner City Grit Records is an independent underground co-operative ran label Based in Bristol U.K
Established in June 2008 by a collective of like minded artists as a direct result of other labels not understanding ‘where we were coming from - creatively or business wise’
We are a label that caters for the modern music enthusiast who has a taste for a wide range of styles and genres.
We’ve grown tired of the expectations that the mainstream culture imposes upon our society, were sick of being dictated to. What’s music, what’s art, what culture is and how we should live our lives and construct our values. We are organic.
We are genuinely interested in building a real network with like minded people that can operate outside of this mainstream system that hopefully will benefit everyone involved.
We see a different model of business from the current dinosaur operations that are in motion in the music industry at the moment. We are a creatively focused label, who put art before profit, and have a humanistic approach to business. We are human beings, and are aim is to connect with other human beings, because that is what makes you feel alive! (not making money!)
If your musical tastes styles and ideologies are a kin to ours then please get in touch. We would like to hear from artists, photographers, film makers, activists, musicians, free thinkers and free speakers.

edge Bristolian acts such as The Black Bloc, Avacate,
Big Joan, and many more. This compilation samples
and mixes all aspects of the city’s diverse back drop
from post punk, IDM, Dub,Trip Hop, Industrial, DnB
and the dam right undefinable
A huge bonus for us while working on this project
is that we came across some hot talent from the
inner cities of Holland, and couldn’t resist signing up
these inventive artists; Cradle, Thor LTD, Mamuschka
and more

New Avacate Single MAGDALENE :
Hey guys and gals!!
September 1st we will be releasing a track off the album, 'Magdalene' as a single with an exclusive Kay Sense remix on the B Side called 'Laundry Room'. This is to coincide with our Netherlands Tour and we hope to bring attention to and spread the message about the Magdalene Laundries as a result of this.
The single will contain a leaflet with information on the Laundries and the atrocities that occurred there, to inform people of the injustice which inspired us to write the song, particularly the story of Kathy O'Beirne who we dedicate the release to (unfortunately there are thousands of women like her, but her courage to publicise her story first captured our hear...

We are sending you this message as you were listed as one of Mellosonic's friends here on SoundClick. You might have already heard, but we are sad to inform you that Chris J. Brown(aka Mellosonic) passed away on September 23rd. We were friends with Chris and found him a welcoming spirit. Last year we started an online band with Chris, "3Fuzed", and worked on several ideas that we are sharing with you now. We were planing on releasing this material at a later date, but our plans have been sadly changed. We have decided to post all our songs to SoundClick.
