Title: The Spaniard
I am an acoustic fingerstyle guitar player and songwriter out of (well, still in) Scotland - for the time being that'd be the north-east part that sticks out into the North Sea like a slumped shoulder. Google-map Banchory and you'll see my town (wee toon) is a grouse's flutter from Her Majesty's holiday cottage, Balmoral. The salmon in the Dee hereabouts is more famous than the grouse.

None of this has had any inspirational value on my songwrtiting which even superficial scrutiny will reveal a preoccupation with more organic phenomena. It is what it is - and if my playing gives the impression of a deep desire to get the song over and done with as quickly as possible, it is a merely a legacy of playing some of the dodgiest bars in Antwerp, Belgium, in the late 70s.

Still, I maintain the burning desire that you will enjoy - even empathise - with some of my songs which are laid out like abandoned orphans on my music page...

Cheers'n all!

Hi Dave
We have a couple of new songs uploaded "The Crimson Veil" & a cover of "Hurt"

Well, I've had time to absorb your latest CD - "Uneasy Listening." Every bit as great as the previous one, if not better!!! Definitely enjoying it. Every time I listen through, my favorite song is a different track.

I know you've been playing "your style" of music for many years. But for many listeners such as myself, it's refreshing to hear the beauty of a single acoustic guitar supporting a single voice.

Hi Dave!

I was sure we were on each others friends list. Please add me when you get a chance.

Love yer last CD! Can hardly wait for the next one!

When's yer next visit to the Los Angeles area? Soon, I hope!

Cheers!

Hi Dave, I was just rumbling through the SC Seniors December radio station, and heard "One for Julie". I don't throw the word "brilliant" around like stale cheese in a high school cafeteria, but that song WAS.

"The Spaniard" is still my favorite, though. Keep up the good work, my friend.

Hey Dave,
Its been awhile, but wanted to stop by and wish you happy holidays!
I have been off line for the last 3 and half months as I have relocated from New Zealand to Australia... any how...Wow... what a Christmas!!!
It has come and gone so quickly!!!
I am looking forward to New Years eve now...hehehehe
I drank and ate so much I thought I would explode!!!

My drummer arrived in Oz yesterday, and we picked our instruments for the first time in months, and had a Jam!!! It felt so good having the band back together!!! We will be working on some new stuff once he gets settled, and then get back into playing some gigs!!!...Woohooo!!
So you should see some new stuff being posted up in the near future.
Well I trust you have had a great christmas too!!!!
Cheers Stevie

Hi again Dave, now it's my turn to apologize for the delay! Just had eight gigs in twelve days, plus rehearsals and teaching so this has somewhat curbed my online pleasures! Great picking on your songs. Glad you like ours smile :)

Hi Dave, yes this is definitely my sort of fingerstyle guitar-picking, and your singing is just right for it, too! have you heard of Derek Brimstone? He was my first teacher on guitar and banjo. But I'm mainly a bass player now.

What a coincidence that your CD is to be "Uneasy Listening" when our duo is called "A Little Uneasy", and that my duo-mate Rick is also a left-hander who plays right-handed. He plays in quite a lot of odd tunings, too wink ;)

And you might like to check my own song "Abstinence"...

Hello Dave,
Wonderful playing and great voice! You really compliment the Martin sound. I will think of you tonight, when I pour some Bushmills over ice .
