Title: Dust on my Windscreen
On this page, I'm featuring a song from my album BarBaRa magic" for around two weeks each. I'd love your feedback on them.

I'm a romantic, girly girl, and a typical Libran Dragon, born into a performing family. My grandparents were vaudevillian singers/dancers/actors (g'pa was a stage manager and g'ma a prof. dancer when they married). I have always been a dancer/performer in one way or another, one of my happy memories is of singing on the 'channel niners' show back in the sixties.

I earned a College Cert in Performing Arts/Stage Management, in 2002, I started writing songs after writing poetry for 6years.

I performed some of my songs at theWoodford Folk Festival in Queensland for a couple of years, and produced my first cd in 2000. My songs vary from lusty love to the romantic and sensual. I have a bit of a country song voice, so some naturally tend to sound that way.

I'm involved in the bands, "Blue Iguana" &"Tarnogard" both involving great personalities, and I'm singing backup vox for some very talented singer/writers.
BarBaRa's Album: Yahoo!!! my new album BarBaRa magic" is ready.

I'm very excited, as I think it sounds great! 14 songs of sensuality, passion, and love (and of course, it wouldn't be a country album without love lost as well).

No-one was safe as I was collecting material for my album. I have acknowledged and thanked my lovely friends for their support. Now I wish to thank all of my soundclick friends as well. I hope you enjoy it as I post one song per fortnight up. If you want to purchase the album, please let me know. I can post anywhere. I'm keeping the price affordable (AUD22 plus post).
love and hugs
BarBaRa
new songs: We've been recording a couple of my new songs "ya mumma won't let ya be gay', and ' I'm not the only one you're truckin', both country songs and destined for my new album, also available soon. They're just about finished in the editing suite. So you can expect them soon as well as a vidio clip of our regular local gig.
hugs

Blue Iguana: Our band Blue Iguana is going from height to height. We are a resident band in a busy tourist town on the beautiful hinterland range on the Sunshine Coast in South East Queensland for the past 4 months.

I am learning a lot from this experience and branching out into covers as well as our original songs. Here is our updated photo with our new sax player, Mike, included.

I love to do the Nancy Sinatra type songs, "These Boots Are...', "Jackson', "How does that grab ya darlin'", as well as Linda's "Blue Bayou", Ralf and I do some popular Sonny and Cher numbers, and our audiences are coming back for more, leaving some very good tips unbidden, which gives us the confidence to continue in...
How quickly things move now.: We are having so much fun with our new band. We have a new guy, our tenor sax player, Mike is a great addition. It seems that the venue we play at has begun to generate some rivalry in our town as far as great food and great music. The local pub restaurant guy and the local coop music guy both came to check us out quietly, and some of our patrons have told us that they have been told about us by friends and family.

People are coming back to listen, a great compliment.
What Fun We Are Having!!!!!
love it.
Blue Iguana - our great new band: Wow, It's amazing how things happen in a lightening flash.

My partner and I were invited to play at a local venue, and we accepted. Straight away a couple of musician friends were interested in joining us, with a drum kit, and a bass guitar (there were a few local vocalists who wanted to join us, but one male and one female vocalist is all we need this time). Since the photo we've been joined by Mike, a tenor sax player with a great sound.

Now we are "Blue Iguana" and are a resident band twice a week on our beautiful range on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland.

Things are rocking in our town, we had three gigs in three days, great fun and great exposure. We're having heaps of fun ...
My daughter' graduated: Well, here it is, child #3, my youngest baby has just graduated from school, and going out into the big wide world.

I invite you to view the formal photos on 'my photos' section of this SC.

I am finding myself in an interesting period, where, after almost 40years of having children, looking out for them, and the odd husband or two, as well as a house and all that involves, I'm finding that what I do and the rewards of my labour are mainly for me. It's my turn, and I know it's going to be weird. My man and I are doing really nicely, but for now, I think I'd like to explore this new option. I'm looking at some houses to buy, going back to full time work, and getting into my singing...
Sydney Songs at The Iceberg Sydney: Christmas in Sydney was an amazing week. Ralf's (see our duo "taRnogarD") songs about the delights of Sydney were performed with Sue Smithers, ex vogue model turned cabaret singer. The show was introduced by her sister Joy (Television actor currently in the soapie "Home and Away").

Some Sunshine Coast friends toured to Sydney to support Ralf in this dynamic launch of this work.

We spent a great christmas visiting friends, with Christmas lunch with some of them at their Newport Beach home.

I invite you to see my photos section on this site for some more piccies.

Hey,

Stopping by for a spin. I left some stars. smile :)

I wanted to let you know that I just posted a new song that I think you will enjoy.
Not really very new though. It was written in 1847. LOL

It's an old Christmas standard.
O Holy Night (Cantique de Noel)

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=8419088

I hope I did the song justice. wink ;)

I'd appreciate it if you could give it a spin when you get a chance and let me know what you think.

Thanks for your support. smile :)

Hey,

How's it going? I've been pretty busy myself.

I wanted to let you know that I uploaded a new song called:
"Without You (Ballad of Dona)"
It's actually a previously unpublished song written by my brother Paul back in the 80's. Don't let the title fool you. It's not your everyday ballad. wink ;)
I'd appreciate it if you could take it for a spin when you get a chance and let me know what you think.
http://soundclick.com/share?songid=8256877

I also have given "Slay the Dragon" a complete re-mix. If you liked it before I think you'll really like it now. Turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. I'd appreciate any feedback you can offer.

All of my songs have been recently re-mastered for more dynamic range and a less fatiguing sound. Hopefully this will result in a more pleasant listening experience for all.

More songs coming soon! smile :)
Thank you for your support.

Hi Barbara,

Thanks so much for the message, and for your encouraging words about "The Important Things". Also for your offer to show me your part of your beautiful country...It is my ultimate dream to go to Australia, and one day I plan to do it!!!

On another "note"...I saw on the news that there are wildfires in Queensland right now, suspected to be human-started...I don't understand why anyone would do that. All I can say is that I hope the fires are put out soon and that nobody was hurt.

Your friend in Canada,

Brett
