Suspectz Records was founded early 2001 by Robert Harper & Trayvon Thomas. They met and started their first group "Da Suspectz" around Feb. 2001. They decided that they needed to add other elements to the group that would give them their niche from other hip-hop groups, so they enlisted a background vocalist named "Shorty Mac". They also added a 3rd rapper so they could have a rapper for each verse of their songs and "Twisted" was the perfect man for the job. The final element was recruiting "Da Lady Suspectz" which consist of Toya & Edna their dancers.
On May 12, 2001, Da Suspectz performed for the first time at the Sturges Theater in San Bernardino, California and won first place in the hip-hop category. At their next show "San Bernardino Fire Dept. Earthquake Awareness Show" they where approached by KGGI 99.1 about doing a promo song for them which was featured on "Friday Night Get Down" a weekly show hosted by DJ 4real & DJ Delvin. They were able to sell close to 1000 copies of their 2 song demo cd in less then a year.
Slowly the original team feel apart but Robert :Boss Hogg" Harper continued moving on releasing his debue EP "Guilty Til Proven Innocent in late 2003.
In 2007 Hogg teamed up with his current partners D-Nutt & Fatt Ike. Everything else is future in the making. Holl At Us !!!
