Graduate Forester Colorado State U class of 1958..MS in Forest Management. Started my own Garrison Associates Structural Wood Sales Company in 1981 following 22 years as manufacturer's rep. Near retirement age now at 78, started playing banjo eight years ago, writing songs mostly for Grandchildren to let them know how things were in the depression years of 1932 on up until now. I am still rough around the edges having started playing late in life; but I am having a ball! and am encouraged by the interest shown in my work. SoundClick and http://ezfolk.com/music/Lake_Fork_Verne/ are my two sites for my songs.

"Another place in time" This song really gathered my attention. In some cases the farming life requires versatility that most people don't require. Verne your memory and knowledge of farming lifestyle in the early years is priceless history to be told. Great songs my friend and keep those hands working for all of us most appreciative listeners to enjoy.
All the best!

Hey there Vern!
Thanks for coming by to say hello. You have been busy with your music like always. Hats off to you! My favorite time is listening to your
homespun timeless music, especially on Cold winter Illinois days near the fireplace and burning some good Illinois hardwood. Can you hear it crackling?
Go Bears!

On behalf of all the fans here on soundclick. We are all going to dearly miss Verne. This world needed more people just like him with his amazing friendliness, wit, and lyrics. I hope this page continues for many more people such as I. To share his vast memories of living in rural America. Simplicity is something we seemed to have lost in many aspects of our daily lives. But Verne brought it all back the memories only he could tell with his banjo on his lap strumming along. He will be missed.
