This is me. That's all there is to it. The music you'll hear, for better or worse, comes from that place deep inside all of us, where dreams live and die. The music I write, I write for myself, although I hope it finds a place in your collection. You should be able to find something for any mood in here, from elicit joy to the darkest sadness to unabashed rage.
I've played piano since 1994, and started writing classical/romantic style piano solos a few years after. In 2003, I met a guitarist who basically showed me that it was possible to record music at home and do a reasonable job at it. I started writing lyrics and music, both of a "Nine Inch Nails" style and as a more pop-rock oriented songwriter, and quickly determined that my musical future didn't lie in either direction (namely due to vocal abilities not unlike a bluejay.) I decided to try my hand at combining the three musical styles I've attempted, and that's where I'm at now.
Not yet, and I'm not exactly sure how to go about it. Because of that, there's no plans in the near future.
Very wide range here. Rachmaninoff, Chopin, and Liszt are my main classical inspirations. There's a reasonable amount of inspiration from Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails fame. John Lennon specifically and the Beatles in general helped out quite a bit. You could throw Hootie & the Blowfish, the Goo Goo Dolls, John Mayer, Dido, Willie Nelson, even a little Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis in as well. Can't forget Harry Connick Jr. and Louis Armstrong either.
