Mari-Anne
NEWS
I'm looking for producers to help me put down an EP this summer. I am also looking for fellow musicians who would like to help make my tracks better and maybe tour with me. Collaborating is the best part of music.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by my page. Hope you like what you hear.
Why this name?
How I chose my name... hmmm, my parental units gave it to me. Interesting story, my dad's name is Mario, that;s where the Mari comes in, and my mom's name is Ariane, hence the Anne. That is when Mari-Anne came to be :)
Do you play live?
Back in highschool I was part of Acapella and Chamber Choir, we toured and had a yearly concert ( If you live around where I live you might still catch the reruns on Access Channel 6)
As of now I have a couple of shows under my belt. Mostly open mics in and around the west coast. I did get to sing a song at Genghis Cohen, awesome place for unsigned and signed artist to do gigs. Other places I've played at are The Art Hub, Virtual World Cafe. I'd love to start doing more shows this summer and see where it goes. So if you know a place I could play at, let me know.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is a great outlet for artist like me who are just starting out, its a perfect way to put to get started and get the music other there. No limits, no restricitions of any kind.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Getting a record deal would be the icing on the cake. I won't just not be limited to promoting myself on the net. It will an opportunity for me to share my music in a wider range of promoting. So the answer would def. be a Yes on that.
Band History:
A 25 year old, whose is beginning to find her niche in the music world. Going out there and sharing music i've written is the air I breathe. When I pick up my guitar and strum a tune or write a song, the feeling I get is so amazing, a new song means a new "baby", another chapter of my life.
Your influences?
The first musicians I was ever exposed to was the Police, and of course Sting. My uncle and aunt, have always loved them and I recall seeing Roxanne and Message in a Bottle as the first music video I had ever seen. Then my cousin listened to Nirvana, which got me "Smelling Like Teen Spirit". Since I started writing, my biggest influence has to be Michelle Branch, shes the same age as me and I have always admired how she accomplish so much in such a young age. Then there is John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Tyler Hilton, Gavin Degraw,Avril Lavigne, Liz Phair, Boyz 2 Men, The Beatles, Bread, Carpenters and the list goes on and on. Each of those artist I mentioned catered different things that helped me learned to listen to music and its lyrics. My Life as a soundtrack!
Favorite spot?
Glendale, Ca. I live here, I grew up here, met my friends, went to school , this is my home. Whenever I would go anywhere, even just for a little while, when I get home I feel so much more complete. Everything is at my reach when I am home.
Anything else...?
Music is a part of everyone, so when you say you don't know how, pick up a pen and start writing, you're creating your own music, and you realize its not even that hard :)
