A group of five guys making music that pleases the soul, soothes the senses and is just plain fun to play...that's Makayla!
Why this name?
The band name is actually how my last name (Mecale) is traditionally pronounced. My last name is a Zuni (a native american tribe in Northwestern New Mexico) last name. Thus the name Makayla was born.
Do you play live?
We love to play out whenever we get the chance!
Band History:
What started off as informal jam, turned into something more. After word got out that we played blues, we started getting offers to play for several local festivals.
Your influences?
Obviously all the great blues artists... BB King, Freddie King, Albert King, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Cray, and Robben Ford just to name a few!
