NEW ALBUM, "VOYAGER", NOW AVAILABLE ON ITUNES US AND JAPAN!!!
LYV, Solo Rock artist. (rock mostly in japanese)
Why this name?
It was kind of random at first. Some friends and I picked 3 letters at random..and I just stuck them together in the order of L-Y-V. What the hell, right?
Do you play live?
Yes. I took a bit of a hiatus to focus on my songwriting and other issues, but now I'm returning to the stage. I love playing live...so...LYV Loves Lives.
Definately a special moment was opening for The Pillows at Slim's for a sold out show. Truly incredible working with them and the crowd.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Helps allow artists to be heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
of course.
Band History:
(Formerly known as NIKITA)
I have, like many vocalists, been singing since before I can remember. My mother and father met when they
joined the same band in college. My mother being the vocalist, my father being the bassist. I used to listen to
my mother and father when they would sing, I learned control and harmony at a young age (perhaps 4 or 5).
I never got seriously into music until Elementary School when I picked up on flute. From that point, in junior
high and high school, I taught myself clarinet, saxophone, oboe, piccolo, as well as some drum and piano.
During my high school years, I formed a JROCK band with some classmates, called Lunatique. It was a short
lived group, but helped spark my interest in writing and performing JROCK.
Since 96, I have been listening to Japanese music exclusively. From JPOP, JRAP, JROCK and all in between, I
came to love all of the many great bands in Japan. A trip to Japan in 1998 cemented my love of Japan and
Japanese Music. Starting with Aikawa Nanase, Siam Shade, D-Shade and Fanatic Crisis as my first tastes of
JROCK, I found many great groups in the years following leading up to me finding my favorite band and
biggest inspiration in Janne Da Arc. I practiced and developed my vocals influenced by Yuki (Raphael/Rice),
Gackt, Tsutomu (Fanatic Crisis), and of course Yasu (Janne Da Arc). Learning control, style and proper
japanese pronunciation from them, I set out to create my own personal style/sound.
Come Fall of 2002, EDEN CELL was created and I took my spot as vocalist, finally able to put my practice to
use. At the time we were only three people, so I was to be vocal/guitar, so I spent more serious time to study
guitar. Listening to JROCK for over 8 years now and writing for 2 years, my love for it and all forms of music
has only grown,. Since EDENCELL disbanded in 2004, I played live supported by the band Metallic
Beasts. I joined up with some other folks to play in the bands Mortelle, and Blue Eyes for a time. I moved around a bit trying other projects but decided I would continue on with my own solo music. Since then, I changed project names to the new name, LYV. I hope to improve
more over time, and I thank you for your continued support.
