Rock n Roll

Don't ask for a scientific explanation. I'm pretty sure there isn't one. Low cycle hum is the undercurrent of waiting amplifiers and the subtle buzz of single coil guitar pickups. It's the sound that pads the empty spaces between the music, and the barely perceptible tape noise that cues your favorite classic recordings. Low Cycle Hum is also the name of a band based squarely in Saint Louis, Missourah, U. S. of A. Although the band officially formed in early 2003, the ties that connect its four members stretch back over 15 years and extend down the roads that connect the places Low Cycle Hum members have called home.

What do we sound like?? Who knows? Some possibilities: The bastard children of Keith Richards good-naturedly doing their best Black Crowes heavying up a Neil Young song. Pop songs, battered with swagger and soul, then deep-fried Low Cycle Hum appears on: "Upstream/Downstream: A Benefit for the Victims of Hurricane Katrina" (2005 Adelaide/Stickhorse Records) "HARK! A Holiday Record" (2004 Adelaide/Stickhorse Records) Low Cycle Hum's first full-length CD is scheduled for release in March '06. Stay tuned!
