My name is R. Corey Oltman, otherwise know as KingTiger. I am a budding, independent electronic music artist with a strong belief in creative freedom in music. To this end, all of my music is available for free download, in several places on the Web.

I have always had a love for music, even to the point where I would carry around all of my CDs with me everywhere (I have since learned to take a select few bits of music with me). This love of music began to overflow to the point where I had to make my own music, and that quickly became a dream - a dream of creative, instrumental music that would express who I am and (hopefully) impact the masses.

I often say that my musical influences are "anything I've ever listened to," but I think it would be more accurate to say that my music is heavily influenced by rock music and its rhythms. Partly because of this, and partly because I am a drummer, my music is typically very rhythmic in nature.

A very big part of who I am is my faith, which often comes through in my music. I am a very devout Christian -- I believe there is a God Who loves us, and wants to be close to us, and so took the punishment for the things we've done wrong. You can find out more about my faith by e-mailing me or checking out websites like CCCI.org and TheKristo.com.
Why this name?
a very strange story... if you really want to know, send me a msg :)
Do you play live?
I rarely play live, but I hope to change that soon. You might begin seeing me at those free Westgate (Glendale, AZ) events... ;-)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives great power to artists and record labels via inexpensive and easily accessible distribution. In other words, it's cheap and simple to use for both the industry and the fans.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Most likely not.
Band History:
I began playing piano at 14 - which is rather old to begin piano - and often would just make up stuff. I had no knowledge of music theory (and I still don't have a lot), so I just played what sounded good to me. Then, I started getting into electronic music, and began taking classes at the local community college. I graduated in 2007 with an Associate's Degree in Applied Science in Audio Production Technology. I've been going ever since.
Your influences?
Oddly enough, although I make electronic music, my main influence is rock music. My favorite artists there are Mute Math, Relient K, Underoath, Switchfoot, etc. As far as electronic artists go, my influences in genre are Andy Hunter, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, The Postal Service, and most of the indetronic scene. I also tend to like lots of weird, obscure stuff, like Tim Hecker or Andorra.
Favorite spot?
...I don't really have one... but I'm pretty happy in Arizona :)
