Band History:
From the time Kendra Kessel was a small child, it was obvious to all that a future star was being born. Combing her classical training on the piano and violin, with her own unique style and melodic voice, Kendra created a sound that has taken modern Pop music to a whole new level. “I am constantly being asked who my influences are, and, my answer is always the same. I don’t really have any. I started writing songs practically before I was listening to the radio. I just write what I feel inside and let the melodies pour out of me”.
Coming from a very tightly knit family of musicians, singers, and composers, it wasn’t very long before the desires of music took over her. Kendra began taking piano lessons at age 5, and in just a few short months began composing her very own songs. Just two short years later, she begged her parents to let her play the violin. At an astounding age of 14, Kendra completed the rigorous program and graduated from the Suzuki School of Music. And, if two instruments were not enough, she decided to pick up the viola and guitar because “…guitar was just more portable than a piano”.
Throughout her childhood in Minnesota, Kendra spent all her free time playing music and writing complex songs with up to four-part vocal harmonies. “I remember often spending up to 6 hours straight trying to record one song on a little tape recorder, because of the disturbances. The house would be filled with phone calls, the dog barking, family members making noise, and every other thing you could think of. It was the most frustrating thing, but I wasn’t even about to give up no matter how long it took”. This persistence and motivation carried Kendra to early success.
By high school she had performed with the some of Minnesota and Arizona’s most prestigious orchestras, was the featured soloist at a multitude of festivals and events on piano, violin, and singing, and could be heard regularly at weddings, church, fundraisers, school functions, sporting events, concerts, etc. Besides performing, Kendra was a vicious competitor, taking home a first or second place award at every music competition entered. As Kendra began making a name for herself around the state of Arizona, the bigger the crowds became, and even reached over 500 people at a few solo performances as an opening performer.
In addition to excelling at music, Kendra led the varsity track, volleyball, and cheerleading teams, as co-captain, throughout her high school career and received an 4-year academic scholarship from the University of Arizona. After an intense four years of battling school and music, Kendra graduated Magna Cum Lauda from the University of Arizona with a B.S. in Physical Education, and even went on to receive her state teaching certification and personal training certification.
Over the past 4 years, the worlds of modeling and acting have sought out Kendra, but her heart is still set on music. “Music is my main focus and love. I’ve been doing this since I was five, and now it’s my time to show the world what I’ve been doing all this time”. With the creation of her first album in progress, Kendra is anxiously awaiting her chance to shake the world into a new era of Pop music.

Your influences?
As a songwriter, Kendra writes all types of music from classical, choral, and country music, to pop, R&B, and Hip Hop music. However, as an artist, Kendra's style is Pop/Rock with a classical/musical feel. What Alicia Keys did for R&B music, Kendra is doing for Pop music.
