Going Back At It
...if only to entertain myself

It's been a while that I took all of my work and reduced my participation as a mere listener. For personal reasons.

Now I'm back at it. Keep in mind all of these works are not to be taken as a professional effort. They're hand-made by me only, but if you're game to play guest musician, just let me know. There's a mail here. Talk to me.

Also, if you're interested in doing something with my music here, please do so; but give me proper credit and copy me. I'd like to see what did you do with it. If you need a particular source, I can even consider furnish it. Again, talk to me. I do check my mail regularly.

Right now, I am working on new songs, but a date for recording is uncertain. Also, I'm uploading some of my older singles and am working on a complementary "instrumentals" project associated with GLOMP.

As a complementary part of returning to get busy, I'm partly going with a project called "The Killer Flying Tamago-Chans", a band that has been waiting for me to play bass and keyboards with them. We started virtual rehearsals last August, 2007. On top of it, I spend some spare time singing (badly) j-pop anime tunes under the shower for my friends and casual b-log readers.

Why this name?
You see, it's a name - not a band name. I wouldn't name it after my name. My head's not so big. And hopefully wont be... Do I make any sense at all?
Do you play live?
I currently don't play live. The only good thing about being a "former working musician" is I can say I already had my share of gigs. Or probably not...
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Ripping CD's with the purpose of profiting from it is a serious scam. The problem is that I really think that if you want to know wether you buy a CD you'll like, you must know the music. So the ripping CD's and distributing for free should not be seen as a crime, but as free promotion. Word of mouth can take you pretty far. If you don't believe me, ask Rush, Pearl Jam, and Metallica... they started like that.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm already signed up with a local label called Mediterranean LLC, which gives me a lot of freedom. Both in time and music content. But since I'm not going pro, I may just use it to secure my copyrights. It won't hurt if other label is interested, but I know it won't happen.
Band History:
All my works were (loosely) under "Rock In Spanish" category.

June 2005 to March 2006:

* Started in Sound Click. Upladed my first virtual effort called "GLOMP", including the songs: "Viento Solar" (Solar Wind), "Grito" ([I]Scream), "Detrás de los Sueños" (Beyond Dreams), "Lia Fáil" ("The Stone Of Destiny"), and "Beginning of a Dream" (Japanese: 夢のスキマ - Yume No Sukima).

* Additionally, uploaded Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here", merely as a joke (a Cubase SX III test, actually). Took it down as soon as "Lia Fáil" took momentum and end-of-project was clear.

* "Beginning of a Dream" (Japanese: 夢のスキマ - Yume No Sukima). Intended to be an inside job, but a turn of events prompted to its release. It was featured in "Anime Ongaku Omake" EP (japanese: アニメ 音楽 オマケ) (not available outside Mexico).

From March 20th, 2006 to July, 2007:
* Took down page for personal reasons and discontinued any music-related activity until further notice.

Mid July, 2007
Getting ready for rehearsals with my band, "The Killer Flying Tamago-Chans". I'm uploading back my songs and am preparing some new material.

December, 2007
Still writing, dreaming, thinking. Made some errands, and sang some stuff under the shower. Wanna hear it? Read my b-log. :)
Your influences?
Basically my music is influenced by what is known as "classic rock". I wouldn't like to be cited as similar to Argentinan group Soda Stereo just because I play "Rock En Espanol". I want to stay away from that kind of sound and look for something at times more organic, at others more mellow than a J-Pop ballad.
Favorite spot?
I'd say Mexico City, in Mexico; and Los Angeles, California.
Equipment used:
Uh, that really hit me unattending. I own an Ovation Steel String Acoustic, a Jackson Dinky-2 and a Roland GR-707 electrics, a Rickenbacker 4001 and a Hohner/Steinberger both 4-string basses, a Yamaha/Roland/Kawai electronic drum kit, AKG/Audio Technica/Electrovoice mikes, a Roland XP-10 keyboard which drives a mix of software-and-hardware synthesizers, a small mixing desk....

...and a kazoo.

Crunchy guitar zounds! courtesy of a Marshall JMP-1 tube preamp. Guitar shimmers, flangers and whatnot courtesy of Advanced Research and Technology Super Guitar Effector.
Anything else...?
Oh, I have this tendency for lame jokes and apologize immediately...
