Jenae is a sweet blend of pure country and pure adult contemporary pop :) this blend leaves you with soothing music that means something to your soul. Its not just words. She writes from her heart and her soul. She bares it all. Just to make good music that means something to her. Her music is her diary.

Jenae has gone through some major genre changes over the last 3 years. She started out with Adult Contemporary, moving to Rock, then moving to pop/rock then moving to pure Pop, now she wants to give her hand at Country.

Jenae has all the country roots in her. Her father originally sang in a country band and when she was young Jenae and her family would sit together in the living room singing old Tanya Tucker favorites and many more. This set a whirlwind for Jenae. Jenae has been singing now since she was 2 years old, and performing since she was 6 in various competitions and festivals in Canada and the United States.

Why this name?

My Daddy gave me the name " Jenae" and I love him for it.
Johnson is my producer/lifepartner "Corey Johnson's" last name. He let me use it. Since we are collaboration on all the Country material it just seemed fitting.

Do you play live?

Yes the last show I did was in New York. It was a great benefit concert. Great memories and I loved it. I will have tour dates for 2008 soon.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

Mp3s are good. Gives us independent people more chances to get our music into peoples hands that I may not have been able to reach any other way. You never know who you will be talking to on the internet. Best to always have a good manager in place and music lawyer. The more people you know the better chance you have of getting your music out there. There are so many independent artists now. Its hard to shine. Just have to give it your all.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yes but I would want to remain having creative controll eventually with my music. I realize in these days that I would not be able to keep full creative controll of my albums if I did sign with a major label.

I would have to say its "New York" very fond memories there and I love how busy the city is. I am a total city girl. That city rocks!
