Hey everyone, this is your poor musician friend Jarrett. Under advisement of my friend Steve Vitolo, who has hosted me on his radio show multiple times, I've set up a PayPal account. Here's the deal... I'm calling out to you guys for help. To all those of you I've met along the way who have enjoyed my music and have been waiting patiently for me to release an album... this is the chance to help make it happen. As many of you know, I recently moved to California from Boston MA, and having done this, I'm currently broke... (I would be embarrassed about that I guess except for the fact that I'm a musician just starting out... the word on the street is that we're supposed to be broke. but anyways...)
My debut album is really close to being completed, however, there are 1 or 2 more songs that need recording. My lead guitarist and producer, Alberto Daglio, moved down to El Salvador and is running a studio there, which I can get free studio time at... I just need the money for the plane ticket, which isn't always, but can be up to a little over $1,000. There are also CD printing costs and other steps along the way that unfortunately cost money. So here's my current plan, which i'm willing to revise if people have any good ideas:
when you click on the PayPal button on my profile and donate at least $25 dollars, as soon as the album is finished, I will send you a signed copy of it. Keep in mind that this is a donation. I realize that no CD in stores is 25 bucks and it seems like a rip off... but think of it this way... you're not paying for the cd, you're paying to help support me getting my album out- the signed copy of my album is a gift to say thank you. All I'm asking for is $25, however I, of course, would love it if you have the money to spend and are willing to donate more. I think PayPal may only let you donate $25... however, my good friend and former band member Jon Ricci brought up a good point to me. If you're interested in donating more, get in touch with me and I can give you an address to send a check to. By the way, check out Jon's new band at www.myspace.com/lansdowne.
The tracks on my debut album, which will be called "the downs" are as follows:
1. Letting Down
2. And Now She Knows
3. Can't You See
4. Looking Forward
5. I Have Stood Here
6. All That You're Missing
7. California Sky
8. Making Something More
9. Hear
There is also a chance that I will be recording more songs when I go down to El Salvador, so anything else that is recorded, maybe I'll burn to a cd and send out to people who have made significant donations... unfortunately I can't promise anything right now, but it is something I would like to do.
So I guess that's it. That's what it comes down to. And of course I realize that not all my fans have $25 bucks to spare, god knows I don't. However, ask your parents, your grandparents, your friends, anyone who you may have shared my music with. This is something that I know is very important to me, and important to some of you out there, so help me make it happen. I will truly be forever appreciative. Thanks for taking the time to read all the way to the bottom line, even if you can't donate. Keep on listening, for as long as it takes. Love you all. You give me the drive to keep working at it, as hard as things get. Thank you.

Why this name?
it's a funny story... so my parents came up with this name for me, and it kinda stuck...
Do you play live?
Back in the boston area, hopefully you'll see me around. sign up for the mailing list to know when shows are.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
i think a lot of signed artists have lost sight of why mp3s are so valuable. they claim that their record sales are way down and they aren't receiving as much profit as they'd like. however, i bet in most cases, because of free music sharing, they have more fans. it shouldn't all be about making money. it should be about influencing as many people as possible with your art. i would probably have a total of 5 fans if it weren't for the internet and mp3s. for as long as possible, i want my songs to be available for download for free. thats how i get and spread my music, so i want to support it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
i want my music to be heard by as many people as possible. i don't wanna turn into a sellout, though i guess it can be hard to stop at some points. i would sign a contract with a label, but i don't want to lose what i'm all about in the process.
Band History:
i got my guitar as i was turning 13. started out playing nirvana, bush, and 311. then it turned to dave matthews, guster, and counting crows. i started writing songs when i was about a junior in high school, even though i will probably never let anyone hear those ones. in college, i really started to learn how to develop a catchy sound on the guitar, but i struggled with writing meaningful lyrics and a melody that would keep people interested in what i had to say. my junior year in college, 2002-2003, is when i really started to produce songs that meant something to me and that i thought could mean something to other people. i think i will always struggle with writing meaningful lyrics, though every once in a while i can get something good to come out. i have always had the hardest time with producing good melodies, but again, every once in a while...
