Jared Banta is an experienced composer, arranger, and bassist, whose talents transcend the constraints of category and genre. Trained primarily in jazz, his compositions for big band have been performed by some of the finest young jazz musicians in the Boston and Denver areas. In 2005, he was honored with the Wayne Shorter Award by the Jazz Composition Department at Berklee College of Music, from which he graduated in May 2005.

He is also an experienced composer for film, his scores having met with acclaim from directors and audiences alike.

His style of writing has been described as unique, with strong melodic and dramatic content.


A Poodle Called Alfonzo is a Radio Drama featuring an original score by Jared, which won the 2006 Tony Hawkins Award for Excellence in Radio Drama at NYU. It is available for free download at Perry Kroll's Website. Perry is a film student at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Zombie Blood Chaos, a 2007 film by Albert Cook, features an original score by Jared.

Michael Lloyd Band - a funk/rock band led by singer/pianist Mike Liguori.. ML Band's debut, the Highwaters EP, was selected one of the Top 25 CDs of 2006 by the editors at Indie-Music.com, and Colorado's Marquee Magazine gave the band a 2006 Front-Row-Center "Best Jazz / R&B" award.

The Rodrigo Sánchez Trio - a funk/rock trio with strong latin and jazz influences.. Rodrigo is a guitarist/songwriter from Brazil, Panama and North Texas University
