The group started five years ago, and has won accolades since then. They won the state funded Chicago Music Opportunity project in May 2003, and in the same year they were inducted into the Chicago Filipino-American Hall of Fame. In 2004 they were voted as the best R&B group at the prestigious New York International Music Festival. IBU was featured on Fox TV Chicago, WGN/WB, Chicago Cable Access Network, ABS-CBN TFC, as well as the International Channel, and on Power 92.3FM Chicago.
