Hobos In Limbo plays rough and rowdy, olde-tyme bluegrass music!
Why this name?
We all wanna be hobos, but we're waiting to learn more about trains.
Do you play live?
We play regionally in the Southwest. We are playing festivals weddings and special events. We do like it, and all moments are special!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Forget the big record companies. David slew Goliath.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We record for Mutant Mariachi Records in Albuquerque.
Band History:
Hobos In Limbo came together in a kitchen one morning in May of 2003 with vocalist, guitarist and harmonica player Fast Heart Mart, banjo player Kevin Jones and bassist Roblyn Crawford. A couple of months later, we recorded a session on a front porch. This became our first CD entitled "on the porch". It includes two Kevin Jones originals, eleven standards, a cameo by a resident cat, a rainstorm, and even crazy neighbors drag racing.
The Hobos have performed steadily since our inception. We are full of energy and enthusiasm for the wonderful style of music we have chosen to keep alive, so folks have a hard time sittin' still while we play.
Rowdy Bluegrass, rockin' olde-tyme country, sentimental waltzes, ancient Celtic melodies, a couple of honkey tonk blues numbers and several tunes from neo-bluegrass composers (1970-present) are all represented in our song selectons.
