Half A Halo was created in Toronto, Canada in April of 2003. The band consists of Dave singing and playing guitar, John the screamer playing bass, Joe on guitars and Collin on drums.
Spawned from failed pasts, Half A Halo came together out of desperation to create the music they weren't hearing. Fusing heavy riffs, light melody and a sense of song with 2 distinctly different vocalists, Half A Halo quickly caught the attention of The Agency Group, who have been booking them steadily at legendary venues such as Zaphods in Ottawa, and producer's Ruben Huizenga (Edwin, Glueleg) and Byron Wong (David Usher, Crystal Method) who recorded a 3 track demo in September of 2003. Management quickly followed in the form of Krista Evans (K.N.E Entertainment) and Bob Luhtala (I Mother Earth, Edwin)
Drawing on influences such as Pantera, Jeff Buckley, Coldplay, U2, Zeppelin and Metallica, Half A Halo's sound is an organic meld of polyrhythmic guitar parts over percussive grooves while melodic vocals dance with the devil. From the Radioheadish "Incurable" to the face melting "Past", Half A Halo's mantra is one of self discovery, acceptance and the search for truth.
March 2004 will see Half A Halo release their first EP "The Thrashing Floor".
Dave, Half A Halo's singer/guitarist/songwriter has toured Asia, Australia and North America for the past 10+ years in cover/top 40/tribute shows and has played 1,000's of gigs from the smallest of venues to outdoor festivals and entertainment centres for agencies such as S.L Feldman and IAA.
Dave has worked with members of Savage Garden and the producers of the Mathew Good Band, and currently remixes major label artists for Promo Only in Calgary. Past successes for Promo Only include released remixes for J-Lo, Justin Timberlake and Celine Dion.
Dave's remix of Chris Vrenna's (NIN) Microsize boy was included on a released DVD this past June of 2003. Dave also produces solo artists, bands and creates music for TV shows seen across North America on Sportsnet, Fox and Chum for Digital Underdog Productions, a company he formed in 2000.
