Hadassah Lee
NEWS   In the last month, I completed my new CD in Israel, "Underneath Your Smile," where I laid down 10 tracks in Seattle, added a couple and an accopella intro in Tel Aviv, remixed and mastered in my current hometown of Jerusalem. Thank you, Matt, Randy, Asaf in Seattle, Asaf in Tel Aviv, Hillary, Avi and Adi for all your support and making this happen! Thank you to family and friends who funded this project. Baruch Hashem for our endeavors for Shamayim and peace to all.

Hope to sell online soon.

I sing and songwrite on keyboard, which is a miracle for me, since I wrote some poetry in college. Thank G-d I am sharing my prayers, musings and dreams through music in Israel, now.
Why this name?
I grew up in a Chinese-American family, and I always connected with my Jewish friends and their families. I felt I was seeing my tribe, outside, looking in. Now, I see becoming Jewish was my destiny, and we name ourselves, a new soul. To be Hadassah is to live out my destiny, with my people, in my land.
Do you play live?
In Los Angeles 2003, I played at Highland Grounds Cafe and Canter's on Fairfax. In my hometown Seattle, I showed up at a few open mikes at Third Place Books. Since I converted to Judaism and made aliyah to Israel in 2005, I play live concerts for women only. But I hope to share my recordings all over the world.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, if I could perform live, for women only
Your influences?
Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Indigo Girls, Vanessa Carlton, Neshama Carlebach and Rachel Factor
Favorite spot?
At the top of the stairs, facing the Kotel (Western wall) in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Equipment used:
Roland E-9 piano keyboard
Anything else...?
The Torah says, music is the language of angels. That's why it speaks to everyone. I use personal stories and try to give them over universally. My Hebrew-speaking audiences still understand my Chinese-American-Jewish-women struggles to find myself, find the way I can relate best to Gd and be a healer and inspiration to others.
