Gewalt Kubikzahl started from an idea. Back in 1997, after experimenting with music programing and losing all data during a system crash, Daemon Noir got the idea of trying to make dance industrial styled electronic music without the assistance of personal computers. In 1998, now colaborating with long time friend Ernst Bishop, Daemon began writing and recording for the project, known at the time as "g". Together they completed the music for a demo which was later released as their first album. In late 1999 Ernst left the band and in 2000 Daemon continued on to create the material which would be the bulk of the work that appeared on what would be the project's second release. After a legal dispute with a major label entity over name ownership rights (g vs G3), the band was forced to change their name to the elongated title GEWALT KUBIKZAHL to avoid legal conflicts. Ernst then returned in 2001 to become the project's live keyboardist as they made their first performance in July at Das Bunker in Long Beach. Shortly after, the band's first album "C-SECTION" was officially released on the local indie label Coma-Dose Creations (CDC). In early 2002 Daemon completed the song "IMPLODE" which was released on the P.M.P 2002 Music Compilation, a local artist collective release put together by Joe Pagano. Later in 2002, remixes from different artists like BETA, Decoy Project, Raven F, SEM;I, and Painfetish were collected. Then after completing his own remixes, Daemon put the fine touches on some newer material and released it all as their second album (on CDC) called "CYBIRTH". In late 2003 the song "EQUATION OF WAR" was completed for the next P.M.P music compilation. After six years of working and performing together, early 2004 marked the final performance by Ernst. Several months later Daemon finished the bulk of the work which he intended to be the final album by the project. Then not too long afterwards, Joe Pagano of P.M.P Records and formerly of the band "PROTEUS", stepped into the fold to fill the slot of live keyboardist for the group. After playing several shows with Joe, Daemon decided to return to the studio to finish the final album. After almost two years of physical and financial setbacks... the final album, "CONTRA-INCEPTION" was released in April of 2006. This event will be followed soon after by the re-release of the first two albums and one final performance by GEWALT KUBIKZAHL, putting to rest this experiment in electronic music.

I've been having some health problems that have put the completion of the final album on pause. But, with time to think I have decided to add "SAVE US" to the final album. This song was originally built as a version of a song I was working on for another project. I have now realised that it sounds so much like this project that it deserves to be released as "GEWALT" material. It's probably the most dancey song i've ever written so, I hope you guys enjoy stomping to it once the album is released... which I will pray will be soon. Thanx for all your support.

I like your stuff....I'll check out Hellwire and vote soon. I especially like the "W.O.T.W."(WWWIII mix). Very stompy and aggressive...reminds me of Funker Vogt a little....Thanks for the downloads!
Aloha,

Well, the final GEWALT KUBIKZAHL release (CONTRA-INCEPTION) is almost finished. I just added demo versions of two of the songs (a final version of "P.O.W." with lyrics, and a brand new song called "Your Eyes") to the music page. PLUS, I also added a demo version of "No Shuffle"... a cover of a Front 242 song. Enjoy.
