More on writing: People always ask me, why do I keep writing and playing when I don’t play live any more? Well I suppose that I’ve been thinking about that for quite some time now and can’t come up with a real answer. I suppose that for me it’s like one of these thrill seekers that jump out of airplanes or do bungee chord jumping. I guess obsessions come in many forms. In my case it’s seeing what level I can take a simple melody to. Back in Music College, I was taught to start off with a melody, and then build chords around it using relative scales in the key.
